A method of analyzing an image of a cell in a laminated structure may include the steps of: (a) fluorescently labeling a cell nucleus in the laminated structure having at least one cell layer and one or more other types of biomolecules; (b) acquiring a plurality of planar tomographic fluorescent labeled images in different height directions from the laminated structure for each type of fluorescently labeled biomolecules after the step (a); (c) superimposing a planar tomographic fluorescent labeled image group acquired in the step (b) to construct a three-dimensional tomographic image; (d) dividing the three-dimensional tomographic image constructed in the step (c) into one or two or more cell regions; (e) producing one planar stacked image for each divided cell region after the step (d); and (f) performing image analysis on each planar stacked image produced in the step (e) to analyze cells in the laminated structure.

A cell image analysis apparatus includes a threshold value storage unit storing a cell nucleus threshold value, a fragmented cell nucleus threshold value, and a cell nucleus area threshold value in advance, an image input unit inputting a cell image captured from a cell stained with a fluorescent substance, a cell nucleus region extraction unit extracting, from the input cell image, a region having an area equal to or larger than the cell nucleus area threshold value from among regions having a luminance value equal to or larger than the cell nucleus threshold value as a cell nucleus region, and a fragmented cell nucleus region extraction unit extracting, from the cell nucleus region, a region having a luminance value equal to or larger than the fragmented cell nucleus threshold value as a fragmented cell nucleus region.

A cell image analysis apparatus and method for judging, quickly and with good reproducibility, the presence or absence of a membrane translocation reaction occurring in a cell owing to application of an arbitrary stimulus to the cell using a fluorescence microscope. The inventive apparatus has: an element acquiring as an image data a fluorescence microscopic image of a cell after the application of the stimulus; an element determining a region occupied by the cell in the fluorescence image of the cell; an element determining a contour line of the cell having a width of a predetermined number of pixels from a periphery of the region occupied by the cell; and an element judging the presence or absence of the membrane translocation reaction based on a brightness value on the contour line of the cell and a brightness value in an inside of the contour line of the cell.

Apparatus, a method and software for analyzing a cell image

In the case of detecting whether or not a binding site of a transcription factor TFIID and a transcription factor TFIIB is present in a labeled DNA, the presence of a binding site can be detected precisely by adding all of a transcription factor TFIID, a transcription factor TFIIB and an anti-TFIIB antibody to a DNA-containing solution, and obtaining a translational diffusion time of the binding product by FCS-measurement. Information for obtaining a translational diffusion time is obtained, by mixing the sample and measuring it by fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), and as a result, detection result can be simply obtained in a short time, without performing troublesome operation such as utilization of a radioisotope and selection by an electrophoresis method or immobilization of a molecule on a solid substrate.
