Methods, apparatus, and systems for medical procedures include receiving a first ultrasound slice from an ultrasound transducer, the first ultrasound slice corresponding to a first ultrasound position. A second ultrasound slice is received from the ultrasound transducer, the second ultrasound slice corresponding to a second ultrasound position. The first ultrasound slice and the second ultrasound slice are stored in memory. A first catheter position of a catheter is received. The first catheter position is determined to correspond to the first ultrasound position and the first ultrasound slice is provided based on the determination. The determination that the first catheter position corresponds to the first ultrasound position may be made based on locations, orientations, or may be based on the number of voxels that overlap between the first catheter position and ultrasound positions.

A catheter is disclosed comprising: a connector including a plurality of first contacts and one or more second contacts; a shaft including a plurality of electrodes, each electrode being coupled to a different one of the plurality of first contacts; a memory coupled to at least one of the second contacts, wherein the memory is configured to: store a pinout map identifying an order in which the plurality of electrodes is coupled to the plurality of first contacts; and provide the pinout map to an external device via one or more of the second contacts after the connector is coupled to the external device.

A system includes multiple electrically-conductive channels and a processor. The processor is configured to receive, over the electrically-conductive channels, (i) respective first electric currents from a probe, which is within a body of a patient, via a plurality of first electrodes, which are attached to skin of the patient at a region of the body, and (ii) a second electric current from the probe via a second electrode, which is attached to the skin and is connected to one of the channels. The processor is further configured to ascertain respective first electric-current values of the first electric currents and a second electric-current value of the second electric current, and to calculate a position of the probe between the region and the second electrode, based on the first electric-current values and the second electric-current value. Extending the tracking volume in a probe tracking system

Described embodiments include a system that includes an electrical interface and a processor. The processor is configured to receive, via the electrical interface, an electrocardiographic signal from an electrode within a heart of a subject, to ascertain a location of the electrode in a coordinate system of a computerized model of a surface of the heart, to select portions of the model responsively to the ascertained location, such that the selected portions are interspersed with other, unselected portions of the model, and to display the model such that the selected portions, but not the unselected portions, are marked to indicate a property of the signal. Other embodiments are also described.

Cardiac catheterization is carried out using a probe having sensing electrodes disposed on a distal portion thereof, placing the sensing electrodes in galvanic contact with respective locations in an atrium of the heart, thereafter acquiring electrograms from the sensing electrodes while concurrently detecting ventricular depolarization events, generating from the electrograms a time-varying electroanatomic map showing electrical propagation in the heart, and displaying the electroanatomic map in a series of visual images, the images including an icon that visually indicates the ventricular depolarization events.
