A supporting plate 4 is uprighted from a bottom wall 5 of an electric contact portion 2 of a female terminal 1. Both ends 4a of the supporting plate protrude horizontally over a height equal to the height of the supporting plate and are engaged in engagement grooves formed on inner side walls 6 of the electric contact portion 2. The entire width of the supporting plate is larger than the inner width of said bottom wall. Such a settling structure for the terminal surely prevents excess warping of the electric contact potion of the terminal.

A connector for detecting an incomplete insertion of a terminal is provided, wherein the connector causes a detecting accuracy of the incomplete insertion of the terminal to be improved when each of a detection of incomplete insertion and a detection of continuity of the terminal is performed. A guide groove is formed, into which an incomplete insertion detecting finger of an inspecting pin is inserted. The guide groove is formed at a space into which a resilient supporting piece is capable of bending when confronted by a terminal receiving chamber of a connector housing. A pick-up surface is provided for guiding at an opening of the guide groove. A straight portion is formed along the guide groove so as to protrude from the straight portion, which is lengthened at the tip of the resilient supporting piece. The straight portion is located a small distance apart from the guide groove in a direction toward the direction opposite of which the resilient supporting piece is capable of bending into.

Connector for detecting incomplete insertion of terminal

A connector fitting-indication mechanism that is provided with an indicator capable of accurately indicating a condition of fitting of two connectors when they are engaged, and can positively be returned to an original position upon disengagement of the connectors from each other. The indicator is in one connector and is releasably engageable with a portion of a second connector. When engaged, the indicator moves to an indicating position and when disengaged, the indicator moves to a position.

Connector with fitting-indication mechanism

A lever having pivotal movement-purpose cam grooves is pivotally mounted on one connector. Engagement pins for the pivotal movement-purpose cam grooves are formed on the other connector. Auxiliary engagement pins are formed on the other connector in juxtaposed relation to the engagement pins, respectively. Sliding movement-purpose slanting portions, extending transversely of the lever for cooperating respectively with the auxiliary engagement pins, are formed in the lever. The pivotal movement-purpose cam groove has a communication groove for receiving the engagement pin. Movement-purpose elongate grooves for cooperating respectively with lever pivot pins are formed in the one connector, and extend in a direction of projection of the lever. A pair of retaining holes for a lock projection are formed in the one connector, and are spaced from each other in the lever-projecting direction.

Lever fitting-type connector

An inspection device for connectors comprises a connector support (6) and an inspection main body (3) movable relative to each other. The main body has therein a plurality of inspection pins (11) connected to an inspecting electric circuit, which inspection pins are each urged forwardly by a spring (2). A connector to be inspected has a plurality of terminal-accommodating chambers, each containing a resilient cantilever support piece (14) and a space (16) adjacent the support piece. Each inspection pin (11) includes a continuity-test surface (11a) and an incomplete-insertion detector portion (11b) protruding forwardly of the continuity-test surface, which detector portion (11b) is at the front end formed with an abutment means (11c) engageable with a corresponding abutment means (14b) of the related support piece (14). During inspection, the detector portion (11b) enters the space (16) adjacent the support piece (14) so that the continuity-test surface contacts a terminal lug (C) in fully-inserted position in the accommodating chamber. Terminal lugs are individually inspected whether in fully-inserted or incompletely-inserted position without making errors.

Inspection device for connectors and connector

A connector terminal checking device of the present invention comprises a base plate, a checking body movably mounted on the base plate, and a connector holder fixed onto the base plate, wherein the checking body further comprises a plurality of check pins aligned facing toward the connector holder, and the connector holder is provided with a terminal holding wall formed with a plurality of terminal position regulating sections, each for receiving a corresponding one of a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers of a connector to be checked, and also provided with a pair of connector sustainers shiftably urged by way of a resilient stuff, wherein by shifting the checking body toward the connector installed in the connector holder to bring the terminals in the connector into contact with the check pins, the terminals improperly inserted in the accommodating chamber are abutted against the terminal position regulating section and shifted to the properly inserted position.

The set position of at least the fulcrum axis pins of an operation cam lever pivotally supported on a female connector or the projecting engagement pins of a male connector is biased by a predetermined bias quantity to the connecting operation initiating end side of the operation cam lever with respect to the connection-direction center line of the connection opening end portions of the respective connectors.

A terminal-protecting-board type connector comprises: a first connector housing into which male terminals are inserted; a terminal protecting board set in the first connector housing; a second connector housing in which female terminals are inserted; and an engaging simple bolt and tightening nut for engaging the first and second connector housings to each other. The terminal protecting board includes a flat plate having terminal supporting holes and extraction holes in correspondence to the terminal accommodating holes of the first connector housing, a pair of locking pieces formed on the rear surface of the flat plate, and a pair of hook pieces formed on the front surface of the flat plate. The first connector housing has a pair of temporary locking ears on the inner surfaces to temporarily lock the terminal protecting board and a pair of locking holes with which the locking pieces of the terminal protecting board are engaged. With this connector, it can be readily detected whether or not the end portions of the male terminals are deformed when inserted into the connector housing, the end portions of the main terminals are positively protected until the engagement of the connector housings has been achieved, and the male terminals can be extracted without removal of the terminal protecting board.

A locking pin of a connector has slits which are provided through each body 31 of the locking pin, and has bridge elastic portions provided so as to be continuous in the pin insertion direction and so as to have elasticity in the direction to press terminals against walls of terminal accommodating chambers, the locking pin being inserted between the terminals and a wall, opposite to the terminals, of the locking pin insertion hole. Accordingly, the variation in size of the respective portions can be absorbed so that each pin body can be inserted into the locking pin insertion hole easily, and the terminals can be prevented from rattling in the terminal accommodating chambers.

Connector with a double locking mechanism

A connector in which double engagement can be easily and positively verified even if an engagement pin has been damaged while being inserted into an engagement pin hole in a housing of the connector. The connector has an insertion engaging device provided with engaging pins for double engagement of a plurality of female terminals accommodated in terminal accommodating chambers which are longitudinally and laterally arranged in a connector housing. The insertion engaging device is provided on one outer peripheral surface of the connector housing, and the connector housing includes ascertainment holes penetrating through positions where fore ends of the engagement pins normally inserted into the engagement pin insertion holes are placed so that the presence of the fore ends of the engagement pins inserted into the engagement pin holes can be visually ascertained.

A double-lock connector includes a connector housing having terminal receiving chambers, metal terminals for being inserted respectively into the terminal receiving chambers, and a terminal retainer connectable to a rear end portion of the connector housing in a two-stage manner, that is, in a provisionally-connected condition and a completely-connected condition, wherein even when the terminal retainer in the provisionally-connected condition, the metal terminal can be smoothly inserted into the connector housing. The double-lock connector of the present invention includes a connector housing and a terminal retainer for being inserted into the connector housing. The connector housing has a plurality of terminal receiving chambers which are separated from one another by a horizontal partition wall and a vertical partition wall. An elastic retaining piece is provided within each of the terminal receiving chambers. A rearwardly-extending tongue-like terminal guide piece is formed on the horizontal partition wall, separating the upper and lower terminal receiving chambers from each other, and is disposed centrally with the width of each terminal receiving chamber. A front end of the terminal guide piece is extended substantially to an inlet end of the connector housing.

Connector

Terminals are inserted respectively into terminal receiving chambers in a housing, and then retaining pins of a second insertion retaining means are inserted respectively into retaining pin insertion holes in the housing, so that the terminals received and held in the housing are retained in a double retained manner. A slanting surface is formed on at least one of a distal end of each of the retaining pins and that outer surface of each of the terminals which can contact the retaining pin inserted into the retaining pin insertion hole 38, the slanting surface extending in a direction intersecting a direction of insertion of the retaining pin, and the slanting surface producing a force urging the associated terminals to move deeper in the corresponding terminal receiving chambers when the second insertion retaining means is attached to the housing.

Electrical connector

Disclosed is an ultra multiple connector for use in connecting of a wire harness, etc., having a frame for mounting a plurality of connectors and adapted to connect the frame to a mating connector, the ultra multiple connector being capable of securing mounting of connector housing onto the frame and mounting of rear holder onto the housing. A plurality of hollows each opened upwardly and downwardly are formed on the frame, and one or more connector housing connected to a wire harness is loaded into each of the hollows. The depth of the hollow of the frame is shorter than the length of the connector housing so that a portion of the connector housing in its mounted state is exposed from the frame, and an engaging aperture is formed on a side surface of the portion of the connector housing to be exposed. A rear holder is removably mounted on an end surface of the housing and an engaging click for engaging the engaging aperture of the connector housing is formed on the rear holder.

Ultra multiple connector

A pair of left fulcrum axis pins and a pair of right fulcrum axis pins are provided on a female connector so as to project so that a first operation cam member having operation cam grooves over the pair of left fulcrum axis pins and a second operation cam member having operation cam grooves over the pair of right fulcrum axis pins are pivotally supported on the fulcrum axis pins so as to be rotatable and able to be operated in mutually interlocked state. Left and right engagement pins capable of being engaged with the operation cam grooves respectively are provided in a male connector so as to project. An operation lever is provided on at least one of the operation cam members so as to extend.
