An apparatus for manufacturing a single welded panel from a plurality of material panels by abutting together the material panels using a welder member and irradiating the abutted edges with a welding beam. The apparatus includes two or more bases each provided for each type of welded panel to be manufactured and for supporting the welder member and material panels for the each type of welded panel, and guide rails for guiding one of the bases to a welding beam irradiation region, whereby two or more different types of welded panels can be manufactured.

Apparatus and method capable of manufacturing two or more different

Metal sheets having different thicknesses are abutted to define an abutment line and then are laser-welded. During laser welding, the laser beam is directed to a line (a weld line) which is apart from the abutment line on a thicker sheet side. The distance between the abutment line and the weld line is preferably in the range of 0.1 mm to 0.4 mm. Preferably, the laser beam weaves from side to side with respect to the weld line. As a result, a sharp edge is removed from the thicker sheet and a smooth transient surface is formed on the weld bead. The resulting one-piece sheet can be used as a press material without any pre-pressing processing, such as grinding.

Method of laser-welding metal sheets having different thickness

A workpiece conveyor for conveying a workpiece between presses is disclosed. The workpiece conveyor includes first, second and third stations disposed between the presses, a reversing mechanism disposed at the first station and equipped with a pair of right and left reversing jaws that are driven separately for elevation and rotation, a first workpiece receiver disposed at the second station and capable of moving up and down, an unloader mechanism and a second workpiece receiver disposed on an unloader which is disposed at one of the end portions of a carriage capable of moving between the first to third stations, a third workpiece receiver disposed at the other end of the carriage which is spaced apart from the second workpiece receiver by the same distance as the distance between the stations, and leaf cams disposed near the first station in such a manner as to be capable of meshing with the unloader lifter and removing along an arcuate or curved path the workpiece.

A workpiece conveying apparatus for a working machine including provided with a slider rail arranged vertically on the body of the workpiece conveying apparatus, a drive source, a parallel link consisting of the slider link which is fitted crossing at right angles to and slidably in said slider rail, a slider arm, a lower slider link carrying a work holder and a sub arm and being connected rotatably with each other, a rocking lever being connected to the middle portion of the slider arm rotatably and rocked by a driving mechanism at a predetermined angle, whereby the work holder can convey a workpiece into or out of the specified position along with the intentional locus settled selectively so as to reduce the operating range, and keep a continuous working operation of the working machine, resulting in the durability of the working machine.

Workpiece conveying apparatus

An apparatus for loading or unloading a workpiece to be pressed by a press machine. The equipment has cam grooves for a work motion and a return motion, on which a pin is mounted to contact with the biasing force of a cylinder device. The pin is further engaged with an intermediate portion of a maim arm which constitutes a parallel link mechanism in association with a slider link, a sub arm and a carriage link mounting a workpiece holder thereon. The slider link, on which the upper end of the main arm is secured, upwardly and downwardly moves with the guidance of a guide member. As separate cam grooves are provided for the work motion and the return motion, the workpiece holder can move in an appropriate route. This enables the continuous operation of the press machine.

Apparatus for loading or unloading a workpiece

A reversible drive device rotates a sprocket wheel so that an endless chain engaging said sprocket wheel moves through a vertical path and then in a semicircular path around a chain guide. A workpiece conveyed by a conveyor device from a preceding stage is clamped by a clamping device extending from a base end of a workpiece retaining arm having an outer end connected to said chain. If the workpiece is to be transferred in an inverted orientation, a slider pivotally supporting the base end of the workpiece retaining arm is raised along a slide guide by the chain; then the outer end of the workpiece retaining arm circles around the upper end of the chain guide together with the chain, thereby rotating the workpiece retaining arm by half a turn and inverting the workpiece. The workpiece retaining arm is then lowered after the circling, the workpiece is unclamped and transferred to a conveyor device leading to a subsequent stage, and the reversible drive device is reversed by operation of a position detection device so that the workpiece retaining arm is returned to its initial position. If the workpiece is to be transferred in a noninverted orientation, the chain drive is reversed by a limit switch before the workpiece retaining arm reaches the semicircular part of the chain path, so that the workpiece retaining arm translates vertically only.

A work-conveying apparatus which conveys a work stably and without fail from the receipt of the work transferred from a conveying apparatus in the previous step to the transfer of the work to a conveying apparatus in the next step.
