A system for providing power to an unpowered vehicle by a powered vehicle has a line arrangement with multiple lines representing inputs, each of which includes at least one power line for supplying power. A merging unit combines the power lines of the line arrangement to a total voltage on a common voltage line. The line arrangement and the merging unit are to be arranged on the powered vehicle to provide power to the unpowered vehicle.

System and a method for providing electric power

A system for controlling an electric vehicle is disclosed. The electric vehicle has a main power supply for propulsion of the vehicle and at least one brake power supply for at least one brake actuator. The system includes a propulsion control unit for controlling at least one propulsion actuator, and at least one brake control unit for controlling the at least one brake actuator. The propulsion control unit is further configured to control one or more propulsion actuators to perform a backup braking or a backup steering.

A second PSS is connected to the first EBCU, the second EBCU and the second APM and configured to connect the first EBCU or the second EBCU to the second APM.

Brake system for a vehicle

A steering system for a vehicle includes a steering gear, two knuckles of two steerable wheels, a steering actuator, a plurality of sensors, and a processing unit. The steering gear is connected to a first knuckle of the two knuckles and the steering gear is connected to a second knuckle of the two knuckles. The steering gear is connected to the steering actuator. The sensors are mounted at locations associated with the steering gear. Each of the plurality of sensors is configured to acquire steering system position information. Each of the plurality of sensors are configured to provide acquired steering system information to the processing unit.

The BS includes a second APM for spring-brake-cylinders for a second VA. The second APM is connected to the EBCU. The BS includes a redundant-brake-pedal-sensor (BPS) connected to the EBCU. The BS includes first/second pressure-modulators (PM), which are connected to the second EPSU and redundant BPS. The first/second PMs are respectively fluidically connected to the first/second APMs. The redundant-BPS issues a first control-signal (CS) for the EBCU and a second CS for controlling the first/second PMs. The first PM commands pneumatic-control-pressure for the first APM depending on the second CS from the redundant-BPS. The second PM commands pneumatic-control-pressure for the second APM depending on the second CS from the redundant-BPS.

A system for providing redundant electric power to at least one vehicle component is disclosed. The system includes at least one power management unit connectable to a vehicle power network; and one or more storage units coupled to the at least one power management unit for receiving electric power to be stored in the one or more storage units. The at least one vehicle component is connectable to at least two of the storage units to enable a redundant electric power supply.

A brake system, for a vehicle, includes a first electric-power-supply-unit (EPSU), and an electronic-brake-control-unit (EBCU) connected to the first EPSU. The PMU is connected to the EPBC, which issues a control-signal for controlling the PMU. The PMU commands pneumatic-control-pressure for the first APM depending on the control-signal from the EPBC.

Protection circuitry for a vehicle power supply with storage units includes at least a first output circuit and a second output circuit for providing power to the storage units. At least a first microcontroller and a second microcontroller are each adapted to prevent the first output circuit or the second output circuit, or both, from providing power.
