Method for decorating green or fired ceramic bodies by inkjet printing including the use of a ceramic inkjet ink which is prepared by milling a ceramic inorganic pigment in an organic medium in the presence of a dispersing agent which is the reaction product of a polyethyleneimine and a 12-hydroxystearic acid and &#x3b5;-caprolactone co-polyester, until the average particle size of the pigment is between 0.1 and 0.8 &#x3bc;m.

Inks for inkjet printers

Compound of Formula (1); wherein: Zis an organic radical comprising w amino groups, in which w is a number and 5&#x2266;w&#x2266;3,000; A and B are independently oxy-C-C-alkylene carbonyl groups or oxy-C-C-alkenylene carbonyl groups derived from hydroxy carboxylic acids or lactones; T is hydrogen or R&#x2014;CO&#x2014;, where R is a C-Chydrocarbyl group; Y is a C-C-alkylene radical linked to an amino group of Z; Y' is an ionic salt link between an amino group of Zand the terminal carbonyl of (A)-(B)-T; r and p are independently numbers between 0 and 50 and r+p&#x3e;2; s, m and v are numbers; 0.99w&#x2266;s+m&#x2266;2w; and 0.3w&#x2266;s+v&#x2266;2w are suitable as dispersants and milling aids.

Ceramic inkjet inks comprising ceramic inorganic pigments having average particle size between 0.1 and 0.8 &#x3bc;m, an organic medium and a dispersant, the dispersant being the reaction product of a polyethyleneimine with a homo- or co-polyester based on lactic acid, and method for decorating green or fired ceramic bodies by the use of the above ceramic inkjet inks.
