In a CT image of a living body, contours of internal organs thereof are discriminated. Parameters are beforehand stored in a memory for a plurality of internal organs of the living body. Applicators are attached onto the living body and then a high frequency power is applied to electrodes disposed therein so as to heat an internal portion of the body. Based on an intensity of an electric field generated in the body due to the applied power and the parameters stored in the memory, a temperature distribution on the CT image is estimated. To retain an estimated temperature of an objective tumor at a predetermined target temperature, the high frequency power and the cooling water in the applicators are controlled. In the estimation of the temperature distribution, the parameters of the living body are repeatedly corrected to minimize a discrepancy between a temperature measured at a preset position and an estimated temperature associated therewith.

Thermotherapy apparatus

An electronic thermometer includes a temperature sensing assembly incorporating a temperature sensor element, and a measuring and processing unit for determining and displaying the temperature, wherein the temperature sensing assembly and the measuring and processing unit are physically separable from each other. The temperature sensing assembly includes a code for recording information of the temperature characteristic or the like of the incorporated temperature sensor element. With the aid of the code, the measuring and processing unit is capable of correcting nonuniformity in the characteristic of the mutually exchangeable temperature sensing assemblies, to thereby assure a correct reading.

Electric thermometer

An electronic thermometer in which a probe having a temperature sensor element disposed at a tip end portion and a planar terminal portion formed at a base end portion is employed for electronically measuring and displaying temperature on the basis of the characteristic of the temperature sensor element. The apparatus comprises a pair of members pivotally hinged together at one ends thereof so as to be selectively opened and closed about the hinged portion, and probe sandwiching means provided at the other ends of the members opposite to the hinged end for holding the terminal portion of the probe between the members in a sandwiched manner. The sandwiching means is provided with means for forming electric connection between the terminal portion and a temperature measuring and displaying circuit incorporated in the member.

Electronic thermometer

An electronic thermometer apparatus includes an indoor temperature sensor, an outdoor temperature sensor, a single display unit capable of displaying exchangeably and alternately the indoor and the outdoor temperatures, means for automatically displaying alternately the indoor and outdoor temperature in a normal mode, means responding to the closing of a change-over switch in the course of the alternate display to thereby display the temperature other than that displayed immediately before the closing of said switch continuously until the switch is again opened, and means for allowing the alternate display of the indoor and outdoor temperatures to be effected automatically in response to the opening of the change-over switch.

Disclosed is an electronic thermometer which comprises a first and a second sensing portions for detecting temperature at different two positions and each producing an output corresponding to the detected temperature; a display for displaying a temperature in a mode selected from a first mode in which the temperature detected by the first temperature sensing portion is continuously displayed, a second mode in which the temperature detected by the second temperature sensing portion is continuously displayed, and a third mode in which the temperatures respectively detected by the first and second temperature sensing portions are alternately displayed; and a selector for selectively connecting the respective outputs of the first and second temperature sensing portions to the display; and a controller for selecting the display mode of the display.

Computer controlled electronic thermometer

A thermometer includes a temperature transmitting unit and a temperature receiving unit which are disposed on opposite sides of an exterior wall or window. An outdoor temperature sensor is connected to the transmitting unit for modulating the transmitted radio waves. The transmitting unit and receiver unit communicate with each other via radio waves so that they are not in physical contact with each other.

Indoor/outdoor thermometer with remote sensing unit

Indirect blood pressure measurement for a systolic or diastolic blood pressure is accomplished by making use of a true Korotkov sound determination. When three or four Korotkov sound signals are found in four successive heart pulses of a body, each of the three or four Korotkov sound signals is determined as a true Korotkov sound signal. A cuff pressure existing when the first true Korotkov sound appears is determined as a systolic blood pressure. Another cuff pressure existing when the last true Korotkov sound signal appears is determined as a diastolic blood pressure. The last true Korotkov sound signal is determined by counting three heart pulses unaccompanied by no Korotkov sound signals following the detection of the last true Korotkov sound appearance.

Method and apparatus for blood pressure measurement including a true

A process and apparatus for automatically measuring blood pressure, particularly diastolic pressure, in a shortened period of time. A first predetermined pressure range below a determined systolic level is established and, if Korotkov pulse sounds are received as cuff pressure decreases through this range, a cuff pressure corresponding to a last detected Korotkov sound is determined as a diastolic pressure when no Korotkov pulse sounds are received in a third narrow pressure range beginning at the cuff pressure coresponding to the last detected Korotkov sound. If Korotkov sounds disappear during decrease of cuff pressure through the first pressure range a cuff pressure corresponding to a last detected Korotkov sound is determined as a diastolic pressure when no Korotkov sounds are received in a second wide predetermined pressure range beginning at the cuff pressure corresponding to the last detected Korotkov sound.
