Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for wireless communication are provided. An example method may include establishing, with a second UE, a sidelink connection. The example method may further include communicating, with the second UE, a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) transmission carrying a PSCCH payload and a set of demodulation reference signal (DM RS) pilots, the PSCCH payload and the set of DM RS pilots being modulated based on a same cyclic shift (CS).

Sidelink PSCCH timing estimation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an UE may receive an indication of a configuration for receiving reference signals (RSs) and for transmitting a digital pre-distortion (DPD) measurement. The UE may receive the RSs from a network node. The UE may transmit a first signal that indicates the DPD measurement as observed via the RSs at the first UE, the first signal configured for coherent combination over the air with a second signal that indicates a DPD measurement as observed via the RSs at a second UE, the first signal and the second signal scheduled for transmission via overlapping network resources. Numerous other aspects are described.

Techniques for combined digital pre-distortion with over-the-air signaling

A network node may identify a single first packet size associated with a plurality of packets. The network node may transmit the plurality of packets to a UE based on a MIRS. Each packet in the plurality of packets may be associated with the single first packet size. The UE may decode the plurality of packets based on the MIRS. Each packet in the plurality of packets may include a first number of systematic bits and a second number of parity bits. The first number of systematic bits may be associated with a first cyclic buffer at the network node. The second number of parity bits may be associated with a second cyclic buffer at the network node.

MIRS for unlicensed bands

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a set of code blocks to multiple user equipments (UEs). The base station may receive feedback pertaining to reception of each of the set of code blocks at each of the multiple UEs. The base station may generate, based on the feedback, a retransmission message that includes encoded data representative of a subset of code blocks of the set of code blocks and additional redundancy with respect to the subset of code blocks. The multiple UEs may receive the retransmission message and extract a portion corresponding the set of code blocks that were previously unsuccessfully decoded. The UEs may combine the portion of the set of code blocks with the unsuccessfully decoded code blocks to create an updated combined versions of the code blocks. The UEs may decode the combined versions of the code blocks.

MIRS re-transmission optimization for groupcast utilizing network coding

The described techniques may support multi-rank sidelink communications that may be reduced to single rank communications if failure to decode the multi-rank sidelink communications occurs. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first message including first data using a first precoding vector applied for a first layer and a second precoding vector applied for a second layer. If the first message is not decoded successfully, the UE may transmit a second message including second data using a third precoding vector applied for the first layer and a fourth precoding vector applied for the second layer, where the second data is derived from the first data, the third precoding vector is derived from the second precoding vector, and the fourth precoding vector is derived from the first precoding vector. The second message may effectively reduce a rank of the first message when the channel is rank deficient.

Space time coding for sidelink transmissions

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability message indicating a capability of the UE to perform bandwidth-limited envelope tracking or a capability of the UE to compensate for bandwidth-limited envelope tracking distortion. The UE may receive a request for the UE to activate bandwidth-limited envelope tracking or a request for the UE to compensate for bandwidth-limited envelope tracking distortion. In some examples, the UE may transmit an uplink message using a bandwidth-limited envelope tracking configuration. In other examples, the UE may receive a downlink message and use digital post distortion (DPoD) to correct bandwidth-limited envelope tracking distortions in the downlink message. Aspects of the present disclosure may enable the UE to use bandwidth-limited envelope tracking and DPoD for wideband signal transmissions, which may result in lower power consumption at the UE.

Techniques for bandwidth-limited envelope tracking using digital post distortion

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for envelope tracking schemes for a node in a wireless communication network. One aspect provides a method for wireless communication by a transmitter device. The method generally includes: combining envelopes associated with subbands of an input signal to be amplified for transmission based on a combination function; amplifying, via an amplifier, the input signal to generate a transmission signal, the input signal being amplified based on a combined envelope signal, representing the combination of the envelopes, received at a supply input of the amplifier; and transmitting the transmission signal to a receiver device.

Envelope tracking for wideband signals using filter bank processing

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, when a high subcarrier spacing (SCS) is used for sidelink communications, the user equipments (UEs) may use a modified sidelink slot structure for the sidelink communications. In one example, the slot structure may include at least two automatic gain control (AGC) symbols with at least one sidelink control channel symbol between the two AGC symbols. The UE may perform an AGC procedure during the two AGC symbols and the sidelink control channel symbol. In some examples, the slot structure may include bundled slots to minimize per slot overhead associated with AGC symbols and sidelink control channel symbols. For example, at a high SCS, the slot structure may include a first slot including multiple AGC symbols, Subsequent bundled slots may not include AGC symbols and/or sidelink control channel symbols.

Various embodiments may provide systems and methods for supporting lossy compression of feedback information, such as acknowledgment (ACK) information, negative acknowledgement (NACK) information, etc. Various embodiments may support lossy compression for feedback messages in retransmission systems, such as Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARD) protocols, the Multiple Incremental Redundancy Scheme (MIRS), etc. Various embodiments may support compression of feedback bits using a different compression codebook per symbol or per group of symbols. Various embodiments may support selection of a compression codebook per symbol, or per group of symbols, based at least in part on a probability of successful decoding of each code block in the symbol or group of symbols.

Lossy compressed feedback for multiple incremental redundancy scheme (MIRS)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) transmitting, to a base station, signaling indicating a capability of the UE to utilize a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) for channel state information (CSI) reporting. Upon receiving the signaling, the base station may transmit the DMRS and the UE may update a parameter of a CSI report in response to the received DMRS. The UE may then transmit the CSI report to the base station and the base station may utilize the CSI report for subsequent communications with the UE.

Channel state information reporting using demodulation reference signals

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) and a base station implement reference signal modulation for conveying feedback information. In some examples, the UE may receive, from the base station, control signaling indicating to the UE to convey feedback information by modulating an uplink reference signal. The UE may receive, from the base station, a set of downlink messages. In some cases, the UE may transmit, to the base station, a set of uplink reference signals in response to receiving the downlink messages, where the set of uplink reference signals may be modulated by the UE to convey the feedback information. In some cases, the uplink reference signal may be a sounding reference signal (SRS) with embedded feedback information.

Modulating reference signals for conveying feedback information

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may select a scrambling sequence to use per symbol to reduce variance in a non-linearity parameter for a power amplifier (PA) output between a data symbol and a pilot symbol based on a PA model for at least one pilot symbol or one or more parameters of the model. The receiving device may indicate a capability to blindly estimate the scrambling sequence the transmitting device selected to the transmitting device. If the transmitting device does not receive the capability message from the receiving device or if the capability message indicates the receiving device is not capable of blind estimation, the transmitting device may indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device. Otherwise, the transmitting device may not indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device, and the receiving device may blindly estimate the scrambling sequence.

Control of scrambling sequence per symbol for digital post distortion

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for mapping coding indices associated with a rateless coding scheme to respective sets of communication resources over which a transmitting device may perform transmissions of portions of a message corresponding to each of the coding indices. In some aspects, for example, different coding indices may correspond to different cumulative portions of the message and the transmitting device may transmit a first cumulative portion of the message corresponding to a first coding index over a first set of communication resources to which the first coding index is mapped. The transmitting device may signal an indication of such a resource mapping scheme to a receiving device and the receiving device may attempt to decode transmissions of one or more cumulative portions of the message using the indicated resource mapping scheme.

Communication resource allocation for rateless coding

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for early termination of decoding attempts, including decoding attempts associated with physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates that are encoded using a rateless code. In some aspects, a transmitting device may encode a message using a rateless code associated with a cumulative encoding of various portions of the message, and using a device identifier or group identifier as an input to the encoding. Similarly, a receiving device may receive an encoded signal over candidate resources and may attempt to decode the signal in accordance with the rateless code and using a device identifier or a group identifier as an input to the decoding. As such, intended or non-intended receiving device may be able to evaluate whether to proceed with a decoding attempt or to terminate a decoding attempt at a relatively early stage.
