Disclosed is a lip seal for water pump made of a rubber-like elastic material, fixed to a housing as a fixed side and in sliding contact with a shaft rotating relative to the housing; the lip seal having sliding surface with a surface roughness Ra (according to JIS B0601 corresponding to ISO 4287) of 1 to 30 &#x3bc;m, being obtained by vulcanization-molding of a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of the rubber-like elastic material, 1 to 150 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 5 to 90 parts by weight of a non-reinforcing filler having an average particle diameter of 1 &#x3bc;m or more, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a coupling agent, 1 to 15 parts by weight of a co-crosslinking agent, and 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an organic peroxide. The lip seal effects to prevent softening and volume swelling of the rubber-like elastic material and furthermore the generation of deposits in the rotating shaft, which are problematic for rotation torque and LLC resistance.

Lip seal for water pump

A fluororubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a peroxide-crosslinkable tetrafluoroethylene-vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropene ternary copolymer rubber having a fluorine content of 64 wt. % or more, (A) 5 to 90 parts by weight of carbon black having a specific surface area of 5 to 20 m/g, (B) 5 to 40 parts by weight of a fine bituminous powder, (C) at least one of 1 to 20 parts by weight of hydrophilicity-imparted talc and/or 1 to 30 parts by weight of hydrophilicity-imparted clay, and (D) 0.5 to 6 parts by weight of an organic peroxide; the fluororubber composition being used as a molding material for fuel oil sealing materials to be in contact with fuel oil. The fluororubber composition provides a sealing materials having excellent metal corrosion resistance, without compounding an acid acceptor comprising a metal oxide.

Fluororubber composition

A hydrogenated nitrite rubber composition for providing a cross-linked product having a 20% modulus of 10 MPa or more and a thermal conductivity of 0.4 W/m&#xb7;K or more at 25&#xb0; C. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition includes 100 parts by weight of hydrogenated nitrile rubber having a bound acrylonitrile content of 40% or more, a polymer Mooney viscosity ML(100&#xb0; C.) of 75 or less (median) as determined according to JIS K-6395, an iodine value of 23 or less (median), and at least 110 parts by weight in sum total of carbon black as a filler and other gas shielding filler. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition can effectively be used as a molding material for sliding applications or for a static sealing members for highly permeable gases. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition has a distinguishing carbon dioxide gas shieldability, heat resistance, and wear characteristics.

Hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition

A hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition, which comprises 100 parts by weight of hydrogenated nitrile rubber with a bound acrylonitrile content of not less than 30%, a polymer Mooney viscosity ML(100&#xb0; C.)(according to JIS K6395) of not more than 80 (median value) and an iodine number of not more than 28 (median value), and 65 to 200 parts by weight of carbon fibers is provided as a hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition containing carbon fibers as filled at a high density, which can overcome inconveniences as to kneadability and moldability and improve the wear resistance, and thus can be used as a suitable molding material for sealing members.
