A press-fit terminal is provided with a press-fit portion including two contact pieces facing each other across an eye hole. Each of the two contact pieces includes a parallel portion in parallel to that of the other contact piece, a front spring portion and a rear spring portion. A thickness of the press-fit portion is 0.75 mm or more and 0.85 mm or less. When G[mm] and G[mm] denote cross-sectional secondary moment of area per unit length of the front spring portion and cross-sectional secondary moment of area per unit length of the rear spring portion for the press-fit portion, G+Gis 0.030 or more and 0.080 or less. Further, when θ denotes a gradient of the front spring portion with respect to an inserting direction of the press-fit portion, Gtan θ is 0.0024 or more and 0.0070 or less.

Press-fit terminal and connector device

A press-fit terminal includes a press-fit portion including two contact pieces facing each other with an eyehole interposed therebetween, where each of the two contact pieces includes a parallel portion, a front spring portion extending from the parallel portion in a direction in which the press-fit portion is inserted, and a rear spring portion extending from the parallel portion in a direction opposite to the direction in which the press-fit portion is inserted, the two parallel portions being parallel to each other, a thickness of the press-fit portion is 0.3 mm or more and 0.5 mm or less, when a length of the eyehole is Le [mm] and a length of the parallel portion is Ls [mm], Ls/Le is 0.57 or more and 0.65 or less, and when front spring strength is G[mm] and rear spring strength is G[mm], G/Gis 0.55 or more and 1.45 or less.

Connector capable of waterproofing a detector portion

A press-fit terminal inserted into through hole of a circuit board along insertion direction includes a base portion extending in insertion direction, distal end portion, and two deformable portions. The distal end portion is on a front side to base portion in insertion direction and includes distal end portion side corner portions. The two deformable portions connect base portion and distal end portion and are contacted with an inner wall of through hole and elastically deformed. The two deformable portions include deformable portion side corner portions and deformable portion side corner portions include outer deformable portion side corner portions on outer side in direction crossing insertion direction. The two deformable portions include easy deformable portions, in portions having outer deformable portion side corner portions with curved surfaces whose radius of curvature RL is greater than a radius of curvature RS of curved surfaces of distal end portion side corner portions.

Press-fit terminal

An object is to, for physical properties, holding force, contact area, and insertion force in a trade-off relationship, set the holding force to 37 N or more, the contact area to 0.72 mm2 or more, and the insertion force to 90 N or less. A press-fit terminal is to be press-fitted into a through hole formed in a circuit board. A press-fit part includes a beam and an eye hole that is surrounded by the beam. The beam includes two parallel parts that are parallel to each other. In the press-fit part, G1/G2 is 0.20 or more and 1.05 or less where a front-side spring strength is G1 [mm3] and a rear-side spring strength is G2 [mm3] calculated under the following conditions, and G is 0.007 mm3 or more and 0.012 mm3 or less where a spring strength G [mm3] is G1+G2.

Press-fit terminal, connector for board, and board-equipped connector

A press-fit terminal includes an end part that is to be inserted into a through-hole of a circuit board. The end part is connected electrically to the through-hole by being in elastic contact with an inner wall of the through-hole. The press-fit terminal also includes a base part opposite to the end part. Two elastic contact pieces are between the end part and the base part and are disposed to face each other through an opening. A stress dispersion part is provided in at least one of a region that includes a border between the end part and the elastic contact pieces and a region that includes a border between the base part and the elastic contact pieces. The stress dispersion part protrudes in the same direction as an expanding direction in which the elastic contact pieces expand.

A press-fit terminal held in a through hole provided in a board by being inserted into the through hole along an inserting direction includes a first contacting portion and a second contacting portion configured to resiliently contact an inner peripheral surface of the through hole. A value obtained by dividing a radius of curvature of the second contacting portion by a radius of curvature of the first contacting portion is 0.75 or smaller in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the inserting direction. By providing the first and second contacting portions adjacent between adjacent press-fit terminals, a contact part where a contact pressure applied to the inner peripheral surface is small and a contact part where a contact pressure applied to the inner peripheral surface is large are adjacent between adjacent through holes. Thus, it can be suppressed that damaged parts of the board approach between the adjacent through holes.
