A polyarylene sulfide resin composition comprising a compound obtained by mixing 60-99 parts by weight of a polyarylene sulfide resin (A), 40-1 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane rubber (B), 0.01-10 parts by weight of an organosilane compound having at least one epoxy group and at least one alkoxy group bonded directly to a silicon atom (C) and 0-300% by weight of a reinforcing filler (D) based on the total weight of the components (A), (B) and (C) where the total amount of the components (A) and (B) is 100 parts by weight. The polyarylene sulfide resin composition is excellent in impact resistance, heat resistance, mechanical strength, moldability and the like.

A polyarylene sulfide resin composition comprising a composition obtainable by the reaction of a polymer composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a composition of 10 to 90 wt. % of a polyarylene sulfide resin and 90 to 10 wt. % of a thermoplastic polyester, 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a polyfunctional oxazoline compound and 0 to 300 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the composition consisting of the polyarylene sulfide resin and thermoplastic polyester, of a filler. The polyarylene sulfide resin composition of the present invention, because of the polyarylene sulfide resin and the thermoplastic polyester having been made compatible with each other, is excellent in the adhesive property of paint film (paintability) and the appearance of the surface without a large reduction in the excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties inherent to the polyarylene sulfide resin.

Polyarylene sulfide resin composition having excellent paintability

A polyarylene sulfide resin composition comprising a resin composition obtainable by polymerizing 40 to 0.1 part by weight of an unsaturated polyester and 0.01 to 30 parts by weight of a monomer having one or more ethylenic unsaturated bonds in the presence of 100 parts by weight of a composition comprising 1 to 99 wt. % of a polyarylene sulfide resin and 99 to 1 wt. % of a thermoplastic polyester. Since the polyarylene sulfide resin composition of the present invention is in a state wherein the polyarylene sulfide resin and thermoplastic polyester are uniformly mixed, the constituent components are uniformly dispersed and mixed to such a degree that the composition shows no phase separation even if it is passed through molding processes such as extrusion molding, injection molding, etc. carried out under normal conditions. Consequently, the composition of the present invention is very superior in that the adhesive property of paint film (paintability), which the conventional polyarylene sulfide resins do not have well, has been improved without a large reduction in the excellent properties of the polyarylene sulfide resin.
