An object is to provide a structure in which when a waterproof filter having an adhesive layerattached thereto is attached to a housing of an electronic device, the adhesive layerhardly rides onto a stepped portion. To provide a mounting structure for a gas adsorption filter and a housing equipped with the gas adsorption filter that make it possible to overcome the contradiction between achieving a further reduction in the size of airtight containers such as casings for magnetic storage disk devices, and ensuring improved control over moisture, noxious gases, and other types of contaminants in the airtight containers. A mounting structure for a gas adsorption filter to be mounted in an airtight container, wherein the gas adsorption filter is obtained by providing an adsorbent to one or both sides of a base , covering the adsorbent with a breathable member to form an adsorbent unit, bonding together the breathable member and the peripheral portion of the adsorbent on the base to form a collar , fitting the adsorbent unit of the gas adsorption filter into a mounting hole formed in the airtight container, and bonding the collar of the gas adsorption filter to the peripheral portion of the mounting hole outside the airtight container.

Gas adsorption filter

A gas adsorption filter located over a breathing hole within a semi airtight container, wherein the gas adsorption filter has an opening that is connected with and open to the breather hole and, comprises a base material for attaching the filter to the inner wall of the container and a gas adsorption body that is laminated and fixed to the gas flow path surface of the base material, and on the gas contact surface on the side where the gas adsorption body is in contact with the gas flow path surface of the base material, there is at least one gas inflow orifice that is connected to the opening of the base material, and at least one gas discharge orifice that is connected to the outside of the gas adsorption body, and a groove section is formed that is connected to the gas inflow orifice and the gas discharge orifice.
