A driving force interrupting mechanism includes input and output members. A coupling sleeve is to be movable on the input and output members along a rotational axis. A fork is swingable around a swing shaft to move the coupling sleeve between a connecting position and a disconnecting position. The coupling sleeve is positioned on both of the input and output members in the connecting position. The coupling sleeve is positioned on either the input member or the output member in the disconnecting position. An operating member is integrally rotatable with the swing shaft. A spring is provided on the swing shaft between the operating member and the fork relatively rotatably with respect to the swing shaft. A motion of one of the operating member and the fork follows a motion of another of the operating member and the fork via an elastic force of the spring.

Driving force interrupting mechanism

A steering system includes a steering unit which can be configured to convert an operation input to an input shaft into an arbitrary amount of rotation or an arbitrary turning force and output the arbitrary amount of rotation or the arbitrary turning force from an output shaft. A steering handlebar can be configured to be coupled to the input shaft. A support bracket can be configured to be coupled to the output shaft and to support a front wheel of the vehicle. A housing can be configured to accommodate the steering unit. The steering unit can be configured to be mounted to a front end portion of a vehicle body frame of the vehicle integrally therewith by the housing.

Motorcycle steering system

In rear wheel suspensions, which suspend left and right rear wheels independently, to downsize, reduce in weight and simplify a stabilizer without specifically strengthening the same. Upper and lower arms which form suspension arms in a double wishbone structure are swingably supported by a front arm supporting frame and a rear arm supporting frame provided on front and rear sides of a rear cushion. A cross portion of a stabilizer is swingably supported by the stabilizer brackets provided on a front surface of the rear arm supporting frame, and left and right arm portions extending toward the front are arranged upwardly of the left and right upper arms so as to be placed inside thereof in plan view respectively, and distal ends thereof are connected to the left and right upper arms respectively.

Suspension structure for small vehicle

A driving force interrupting mechanism for interrupting a driving force to a driving shaft. The mechanism includes a spindle rotatably attached to a first housing body for supporting the driving shaft so that the driving shaft can be rotated, a fork attached to the spindle so that the fork can be swung, and a lost motion mechanism that renders further rotation of the spindle to be ineffective in swinging the fork when the spindle is rotated and the fork is swung to a predetermined position in which an input shaft and an output shaft are coupled is provided on the spindle. The resulting configuration is compact and cost effective.

A combined braking system in which communicative connection a master cylinder and a brake caliper is cut off by an electromagnetic on-off valve, and hydraulic pressure, corresponding to driving conditions and a braking operation, is generated by an electrically-operated actuator of a hydraulic pressure modulator. Hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic pressure modulator operates on the brake caliper, whereas a psuedo-reaction force which has been generated by a reaction force modulator operates on the master cylinder. The reaction force modulator is configured to include: a fluid chamber for receiving hydraulic fluid which has flowed therein from the master cylinder; a piston to constitute a wall of the fluid chamber; and a metal-made coil spring and a deformed plastic resin spring, both of which apply a force to the piston. The braking system provides a braking operation having a smooth feeling which is similar to that given by a direct-operation-type brake system.

Brake system for a motorcycle

Vehicle

A rear wheel suspension system for a four-wheeled vehicle suitable for attaining vehicle weight reduction, setting weight distribution of the vehicle, improving vehicle design freedom, and decreasing the number of components as compared to conventional rear wheel suspension systems. The system includes a joint member mounted in a rear portion of a vehicle body with a pair of left and right front wheels secured thereto, the joint member including a roll shaft extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, and connecting to a vertical swing shaft extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle body. In addition, a power unit for supporting the two rear wheels is connected to a rear portion of the joint member by means of the vertical swing shaft, thereby allowing the power unit to be secured to the vehicle body rollably and swingably.

Rear wheel suspension system in vehicle

A joint case includes a flange, a joint shaft extending from the flange, and a case main body fitted to the joint shaft. The flange is fitted to a rear portion of a front vehicle body, whereas the side of the case main body of the joint case is fitted to a rear vehicle body. With the above construction of the joint case, the distance between the front vehicle body and the rear vehicle body can be reduced, and a reduction in the overall length of the tricycle can be obtained.

Vehicle body structure of tricycle

A parking lever for drawing a cable for locking rear wheels of a three-wheeled vehicle is provided on the front body. A rear wheel lock mechanism for locking the rear wheels is provided on the rear body. A roll lock mechanism for locking the relative rotation between a joint shaft and a case body is provided on the joint case provided with the joint shaft and the case body. The cable for locking the rear wheels is extended over between the parking lever and the rear wheel lock mechanism. The cable for roll lock is extended over between the rear wheel lock mechanism and the roll lock mechanism. The torsion of the cable for locking rear wheels caused by relative roll between the front body and the rear body can be absorbed at a long distance as compared with the prior art. Excessive load is not applied to the cable for locking the rear wheels, and even if the joint case is miniaturized, there is less restriction to easily realize miniaturization of the body.

Parking lock device for three-wheeled vehicle

A shock absorber link mechanism linking a rear shock absorber to a swing arm of a motorcycle is capable of varying the suspension height and the height of a vehicle. The shock absorber link mechanism includes a first link arm pivotally attached to the frame, a second link arm pivotally attached to a swing arm, a shock absorber link arm pivotally attached to the shock absorber, and an arm connecting shaft. A motor driven actuator varies the link ratio (height) and link form (load characteristic) of the shock absorber link mechanism by rotating the shock absorber link arm via a motion transmission member, pulley, sectoral gear and arm connecting shaft. Further, a sub-wire driven by the actuator compresses the shock absorber when the suspension is lowered.
