A lithium secondary battery having a positive electrode, a separator, a negative electrode facing the positive electrode with the separator interposed therebetween, and an electrolyte, in which metallic lithium deposits on the negative electrode during charge. The electrolyte includes: an oxalate salt containing an oxalate complex as an anion, and a lithium ion as a cation; and a polycyclic compound having a thiazole ring and an aromatic ring sharing one side with the thiazole ring.

Lithium secondary battery

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein lithium metal deposits on the negative electrode during charging, and the lithium metal dissolves in the nonaqueous electrolyte from the negative electrode during discharging. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode mixture comprising a positive electrode active material and an additive. The positive electrode active material includes a composite oxide including lithium and a transition metal. The additive includes a particulate base material, and an organic compound group fixed to a surface of the base material by a covalent bond. The covalent bond includes a X—O-A bond. The element X is bonded to the organic compound group, and is at least one selected from the group consisting of Si and Ti. The element A is an element constituting the base material. The organic compound group has 2 or more carbon atoms.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode mixture containing a positive electrode active material and an additive. The positive electrode active material contains a composite oxide containing lithium and a transition metal. The additive contains a particulate base material, and an organic compound group fixed to the surface of the base material by a covalent bond. The covalent bond contains a X—O-A bond. The element X is bonded to the organic compound group, and is at least one selected from the group consisting of Si and Ti. The element A is an element constituting the base material. The organic compound group has 2 or more carbon atoms.

Nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode having a negative electrode current collector that faces the positive electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein lithium metal deposits on the negative electrode during charge, and the lithium metal dissolves from the negative electrode into the non-aqueous electrolyte during discharge. The non-aqueous electrolyte includes an organic compound having a redox potential of 0 V or more and 4 V or less vs Li/Li.

A secondary-battery negative electrode includes: a negative electrode collector; and a negative electrode active material layer provided on a surface of the negative electrode collector, and the negative electrode active material layer includes active material particles and amorphous carbon which covers at least parts of surfaces of the active material particles. At least a part of a surface of the amorphous carbon is covered with a film having a lithium ion permeability, the film contains an element M, and the element M is at least one selected from the group consisting of P, Si, B, V, Nb, W, Ti, Zr, Al, Ba, La, and Ta.
