An absorbent article includes: a liquid absorbent body; a feces indicator that visually changes between two colors, the feces indicator changing, on contact with feces, from a pre-feces-contact color to a post-feces-contact color; and a urine indicator that visually changes between two colors, the urine indicator changing, on contact with urine, from a pre-urine-contact color to a post-urine-contact color, the feces indicator and the urine indicator being disposed on a non-skin side in a thickness direction with respect to the absorbent body, and one of the two colors of the feces indicator being visually similar to one of the two colors of the urine indicator, whereas the other of the two colors of the feces indicator being visually dissimilar to the other of the two colors of the urine indicator.

A disposable absorbent article, having a front-back direction that is perpendicular to a width direction and a thickness direction that extends from a skin contact surface side to a non-skin contact surface side of a wearer, includes: an absorbent constituent; a liquid-permeable topsheet that is disposed on the skin contact surface side of the absorbent constituent; and a leakage-preventing sheet that is disposed on at least one of an outside, in the thickness direction, of the absorbent constituent, and an outside, in the width direction, of the absorbent constituent. The top sheet includes a first region disposed at least in the rear waistline region and a second region disposed at least in a crotch region. A height of the first projection is higher than a height of the second projection. A first depression is provided with a widthwise projection configured to divide a space in a first depression extending in a front-back direction. A pitch of the first projection in the width direction is larger than a pitch of the second projection in the width direction.

A front edge of a disposable diaper includes a curved recess recessed rearward in a region including the center of the disposable diaper in a width direction, and a front straight portion extending parallel to the width direction from the outer edge of the recess. A rear edge of the disposable diaper includes a curved projection protruding rearward in the region, and a rear straight portion extending parallel to the width direction from the outer edge of the projection. A pair of first cutout portions is recessed rearward from the outer edge of the front straight portion and recessed inward from the front edge of the outer edge of the disposable diaper. A pair of second cutout portions is recessed frontward from the outer edge of the rear straight portion and recessed inward from the rear edge of the outer edge of the disposable diaper.

An absorbent article having a substantially oblong shape, which is superior in liquid-proof performance and fitness, includes a liquid permeable top sheet, a back sheet, an absorbent body having elasticity disposed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and a compressed portion compressing the top sheet and the absorbent body. The compressed portion is disposed continuously to form a protrusion in a longitudinal direction to define a substantially U shape. The absorbent portion has a low elasticity portion, disposed on one part of the absorbent body, and formed so that elasticity weakens when compression to a prescribed thickness is carried out. The low elasticity portion is disposed in the vicinity of an end protruding the most in the longitudinal direction of the substantially U shape.

A sanitary napkin includes a liquid-permeable topsheet, a backsheet, and a liquid-absorbent layer disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The liquid-absorbent layer has a vagina-facing region on a longitudinal centerline of the sanitary napkin and side regions on both sides of the vagina-facing region. The liquid-absorbent layer has a greater thickness and a greater bending stiffness in the vagina-facing region than in the side regions to provide hinge lines along boundaries between the vagina-facing region and the side regions.

Disclosed is a sanitary napkin including a liquid absorbent layer and a liquid-permeable topsheet covering a body surface of the liquid absorbent layer. The topsheet is joined to the liquid absorbent layer in a specific pattern. The pattern includes longitudinal join lines which extend longitudinally and are laterally spaced from each other and a connecting join line which connects the longitudinal join lines. The liquid absorbent layer has a low stiffness portion in a region enclosed by the longitudinal join lines and the connecting join line. The liquid absorbent layer has a lower stiffness in the low stiffness portion than in portions outside the longitudinal join lines.

An absorbent article includes a compressed groove provided on a body-side surface of a sanitary napkin includes a pair of lateral groove segments extending substantially in the longitudinal direction symmetrically about a longitudinal center line and a pair of rear groove segments converging rearward from respective rear ends of the pair of lateral groove segments so that the compressed groove as a whole presents an elongated shape which is angular rearward. The rear side groove segment has a curve conforming, in the vicinity of its rear end, with an arc of a circle having a predetermined radius and inscribed to the rear side groove segment. A bottom covering region extending rearward from the rear end of the rear groove segment has a predetermined thickness and is adapted to be folded along the longitudinal center line so that the bottom covering region can become convex on the side of the body-side surface. A distance between a pair of proximal ends of the rear side groove segment as measured in the transverse direction is in a predetermined range and a distance from the pair of proximal ends to the rear end of the rear groove segment as measured in the longitudinal direction is in a predetermined range.

A sanitary napkin includes an elongated main body having a liquid absorbent layer for absorbing and retaining liquid and rear flaps projecting laterally in opposite directions from a rear part of the main body. The sanitary napkin is adapted to be worn with the rear flaps kept in an unfolded state on an inner side of an undergarment. Each rear flap included a first sheet with corrugated regions and a longitudinally-extending strip-shaped or linear smooth region defined between adjacent corrugated regions. Each corrugated region has hills and valleys which extend laterally and alternate with each other longitudinally. The smooth region is free of the hills and valleys or has a smaller difference in level between hills and valleys than the corrugated region.

Disclosed is an elongated absorbent article including a liquid absorbent layer. In a region where the liquid absorbent layer is present, compressed grooves are disposed to extend symmetrically about a longitudinal centerline, defining a central region therebetween and side regions laterally outside the central region and adjacent the compressed grooves. The central region includes front, intermediate and rear central regions. The intermediate central region has a widened portion in which the separation distance is larger than in regions positioned forward and rearward thereof. Stiffness of the side regions is lower in portions laterally outside the intermediate central region than in portions laterally outside the front and rear central regions.
