The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and method capable of suppressing a drop in encoding efficiency. A valid most significant bit position of a data unit constituted by a plurality of samples is detected, a bit string below the valid most significant bit position is extracted as valid data from the samples, and a bitstream including the valid most significant bit position and the valid data of each of the samples is generated. Furthermore, the valid most significant bit position of the data unit constituted by the plurality of samples and the valid data of each of the samples are extracted from the bitstream, invalid data constituted by a bit pattern according to a binary type is generated, the valid data is aligned, the invalid data and the aligned valid data are coupled for each of the samples, and a data unit is generated. The present disclosure can be applied, for example, in an information processing device, an electronic device, an information processing method, a program, or the like.

An image forming apparatus includes a moving unit to move a developing roller, a driving portion to be capable of rotating the developing roller in either case where the developing roller is located in a contact position in contact with a photosensitive drum or a separated position separated from the photosensitive drum, an acquiring portion to acquire information on a rotation amount of the developing roller and a notifying portion. The acquiring portion corrects a first information, on the rotation amount of the developing roller in the contact position, to a third information by using a first correction coefficient, and corrects a second information, on the rotation amount of the developing roller in the separated position, to a fourth information by using a second correction coefficient. The notifying portion performs the notification on a lifetime of the developing roller based on the third and the fourth information.

The present disclosure relates to an image processing apparatus and an image processing method capable of reducing an increase in a load imposed by processing of multispectral image data. Aspects of the present disclosure provide an image processing device that includes circuitry configured to perform a decoding process on an encoded stream for generating an image. The encoded stream is arranged into largest coding units (LCUs), and filtering parameters applicable to each LCU are provided at a beginning portion of the corresponding LCU. The circuitry is further configured to perform adaptive offset filtering on portions of the image that correspond to the LCUs using the filtering parameters set at the beginning portions of the LCUs, respectively.
