A switch circuit is configured of a first semiconductor element and a second semiconductor element connected in series, and receives a DC voltage of 100 V or more. The drive circuit causes the first semiconductor element or the second semiconductor element to perform a switching operation. The isolated power supply circuit converts a predetermined power supply voltage into an isolated first power supply voltage, and outputs the first power supply voltage to the drive circuit. The isolation signal converter converts a first signal of 6 MHz or more into an isolated first drive signal, and outputs the first drive signal to the drive circuit. The single substrate mounts the isolated power supply circuit and the isolation signal converter. Both the first semiconductor element and the second semiconductor element are wide bandgap semiconductor elements.

Class-D power converter

A power supply protection circuit is a circuit that controls a protection switch provided on a power supply line connecting a direct current power supply and a load circuit. The power supply protection circuit includes: circuitry connected to the protection switch; and a controller that switches an operation state of the circuitry between a first state and a second state. The first state is an operation state in which driving of the protection switch is enabled when the protection switch is a first semiconductor switch having a control terminal connected to a semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type. The second state is an operation state in which driving of the protection switch is enabled when the protection switch is a second semiconductor switch having a control terminal connected to a semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type that is different from the semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type.

A power-factor correcting converter includes: a series circuit including a first higher-potential switch and a first lower-potential switch connected in series to each other; and another series circuit including a second higher-potential switch and a second lower-potential switch connected in series to each other. In a positive phase period of the input AC voltage, a control circuit turns off the second higher-potential switch, turns on the second lower-potential switch, and alternately turns on and off the first lower-potential switch as a master switch and the first higher-potential switch as a slave switch. In a negative phase period of the input AC voltage, the control circuit reverses the on/off operation and the master/slave relationship, and turns on and off only the master switch and turns off the slave switch when the absolute value of the input AC voltage is smaller than or equal to a predetermined value.

Power factor correcting converter

An alternating current-direct current (AC-DC) converter includes: an input AC power supply that outputs an input AC voltage; a step-up converter that converts the input AC voltage into an output DC voltage to be outputted from an output capacitor; and an inrush current suppressing circuit. The inrush current suppressing circuit includes: an inrush current suppressing resistor provided on a path through which a current from the input AC power supply flows to charge the output capacitor and returns to the input AC power supply; a resistance short-circuiting switch that short-circuits the inrush current suppressing resistor; and a control circuit that generates a signal for turning off the resistance short-circuiting switch when an absolute value of the input AC voltage is higher than the output DC voltage.

AC-DC converter

A switching circuit includes: a drive power supply; a first transistor and a second transistor; a drive signal source; and a drive circuit. Each of the first transistor and the second transistor includes: a drain electrode and a source electrode in which a main current flows when a corresponding one of the first transistor and the second transistor is ON; a first source terminal for passing the main current; and a second source terminal. Here, the first source terminal is connected to the source electrode at an impedance lower than an impedance of the second source terminal.

Switching circuit

A DC-DC converter module includes a module substrate on which switching transistors and a controller IC chip are mounted, stud terminals mounted on a surface of the module substrate, and an inductor attached to the stud terminals such that the inductor faces the module substrate. In a plan view, the switching transistors are arranged within an area where the inductor overlaps the module substrate, whereas at least a portion of the controller IC chip is arranged outside the area.

Electrothermal heating device

A DC-DC converter transforms a DC input voltage to generate a DC output voltage by complementary switching control of a main switching transistor and a synchronous rectifying transistor. The DC-DC converter includes a soft-start circuit configured to generate a soft-start voltage rising from an initial voltage at start-up of the DC-DC converter; and a control circuit configured to control switching of the main switching transistor and the synchronous rectifying transistor based on the soft-start voltage to perform soft start of the DC-DC converter. The control circuit brings both of the main switching transistor and the synchronous rectifying transistor to an off state while the soft-start voltage is lower than the DC output voltage.

Device for synchronous DC-DC conversion and synchronous DC-DC converter

Provided is a step up/down converter, in which the inductor current can be easily detected by a simple configuration in any connecting mode of the switches. This comprises a first switch, one end of which is connected to an input power source, and the other end of which is connected to one end of the inductor, a second switch, one end of which is connected to the one end of the inductor, and the other end of which is connected to a reference potential applying unit, a third switch and a fourth switch, one end of which is connected to the other end of the inductor; a capacitor circuit element, connected between the other end of the third switch and the other end of the fourth switch, and configured to generate an output voltage for applying to a load, a detecting resistor, connected between the other end of the second switch and the other end of the third switch, and configured to detect an inductor current flowing through the inductor, and a control circuit configured to perform control from the first switch to the fourth switch based on the inductor current detected by the detecting resistor.

Step up/down converter

A current driver circuit includes a converter part having a switching element and converting an input voltage into an output voltage; a current detector which generates a detection signal indicative of the current of the switching element; an input voltage compensating circuit which generates a compensation signal corresponding to the input voltage; a comparator which compares the detection signal and the compensation signal against each other; and a switch driver circuit which generates a drive signal. The drive signal turns the switching element off in accordance with an output of the comparator, and turns the switching element on again after a lapse of a prescribed time from the switching element being turned off.
