A connector holder is capable of minimizing or preventing interference between a wire harness of an installment panel and a vehicle body. A connector holder is provided with a locking portion with a projecting shape that allows it to lock into a cover attachment hole formed in an installment panel. A wire harness is provided with a connector holding portion for holding a connector of the wire harness and a bolt cover portion extending from the connector holding portion. The bolt cover portion is configured to cover a bolt fixed to a vehicle body in a state where the connector holding portion is fixed to the vehicle body. The locking portion is provided on the bolt cover portion.

Connector holder and wire harness

An electrical connection device includes a first connector (C) having a first housing (), a second connector (C) having a second housing () for receiving the insertion of the first housing (), and a connection detecting tool (). The first housing () includes a housing body (), a lock () having a tool restraining portion () and a displacement restricting portion () for blocking an insertion allowing displacement of the lock (). The connection detecting tool () is held at an operating position to resiliently deform the displacement restricting portion () to allow the insertion allowing displacement. The tool restraining portion () restrains the connection detecting tool () at the operating position so as not to be separable while allowing the separation of the connection detecting tool () from the operating position as the lock () resiliently returns to a lock position.

An electrical junction box includes an electrical junction box main body having a mount portion and a separate attachment body removably attached to the mount portion, a pair of connectors are respectively provided on opposing surfaces of the mount portion and the attachment body are connected to each other, and a vibration suppressing member is between the opposing surfaces, the vibration suppressing member suppressing vibration of the attachment body by exerting a frictional force on the opposing surfaces.

An electric wire with terminal includes an electric wire covering an outer periphery of a core wire with an insulating coating and a female terminal. The female terminal includes: a wire barrel having a bottom plate on which the core wire is placed and crimped onto the core wire; a groove portion extending from the bottom plate in a direction in which the core wire extends and whose surface on the side where the core wire is placed is bent into a concave shape. The groove portion has a water blocking wall molded by synthetic resin. The water blocking wall is provided to fill the inside of the groove portion. A region extending from the water blocking wall to the end of the insulating coating is covered with a water blocking coating, and the inner surface of the water blocking coating is in close contact with the water blocking wall.

A gold plating layer is formed on a base metal () via a nickel plating layer () in a terminal contact portion () to be held in contact with a mating terminal. Diameters and the number of respective wires are inputted, and a diameter of a virtual wire formed by converting a wire bundle to a model through a predetermined arithmetic expression derived from rule of thumb, and based upon this, a flexure life estimating process of the virtual wire is carried out. It is possible to easily estimate the flexure life and also to estimate the flexure life and obtain the results immediately after an application subject and a wire harness to be placed have been designed; thus, it becomes possible to shorten the developing period.

An on-board type connector which includes a housing made of synthetic resin for holding terminals , and reinforcing metal plates integrally having parts to be fixed on board and parts to be fixed to the housing which are adapted to be fixed to both sides of the housing in a lateral direction. The housing is provided, at both sides thereof in the lateral direction, with insertion slits which open toward a bottom face of the housing. These parts to be fixed to the housing are restrained from the back and the forth by a restraining part of the housing , in a state where the parts have been inserted into the insertion slits from the bottom face side of the housing.

On-board type connector

The wiring material is manufactured in such a manner that a plurality of flat cables is superimposed on top of one another. In the end portions of the conductors of the respective flat cables, there are formed terminal fixing portions. The terminal fixing portions are formed by removing an insulating material disposed on one-side outer surfaces of the end portions of the flat cables, forming small-width portions smaller in the conductor width than the remaining portions of the flat cables in a part of the insulating material removed areas; and, folding back the flat cables in the small-width portions and superimposing the conductors on top of one another. Due to proper superimposition of these flat cables, the respective terminal fixing portions can be arranged sequentially in the width direction of the flat cables at a prescribed pitch.

Wiring material and method for manufacturing the same

A bend-test device for wire harnesses capable of handling a plurality of samples at the same time. The bend-test device includes a fixed frame unit, a hinge unit with a fulcrum axis, and a mobile frame unit connected to the fixed frame unit via the hinge unit in a freely pivotable manner around the fulcrum axis. The fixed frame unit includes fixed-side panels respectively including holder holes, each of which holds a grommet carrying a wire harness. The fixed-side panels are arranged in a parallel relation to each other, and aligned perpendicular to the direction of the fulcrum axis, in a freely mountable and removable manner. Likewise, the mobile frame unit includes mobile-side panels respectively including holder holes, each of which holds another grommet carrying the wire harness. The mobile-side panels are arranged as mentioned above, so that each of the mobile-side panels can be opposed to a corresponding one among the fixed-side panels. The bend-test device further includes a pivoting mechanism for reciprocatingly pivoting the mobile frame unit relative to the fixed frame unit around the fulcrum axis of the hinge unit.

In a structure for assembling lamps to and a wire harness for those lamps onto a body ceiling of a vehicle body the lamps to and the wire harness for the lamps are assembled to a sub-frame in advance, and electrically connected to each other in advance. In the assembling work, the sub-frame is assembled to the body ceiling of the vehicle body whereby the lamps to and the wire harness for the lamps are assembled to the body ceiling by one assembling work.

The invention provides a method of simulating and estimating the minimum lifetime under repeated bending for a wire harness containing a plurality of electrical cables, by applying a compact and lightly equipped device. To this end, representative electrical cables, contained in the wire harness, are subjected to flexing and stretching until they fail under repeated bending, so that the number of bending cycles is obtained for each representative electrical cable. The minimum lifetime for the wire harness can then be estimated on the basis of the shortest cable lifetime that can be found among all the representative electrical cables tested.

The master curve is acquired by repetitively bending a single wire and analyzing (CAE analysis with a computer or the like) a distortional change quantity (&Dgr;&egr;) of the surface of its insulating layer while actually measuring the bending life. Then, the distortional change quantity (&Dgr;&egr;) of the surface of the insulating layer of the wire or the like regarded as the object for predicting the bending life is calculated (CAE analysis or the like). The bending life of the wire or the like is predicted by collating the calculated distortional change quantity (&Dgr;&egr;) of the wire or the like serving as the prediction object with the aforementioned master curve. The bending life can be correctly predicted regardless of product conditions of the wire or the like.
