An on-vehicle control device includes a transmission unit transmitting to a mobile device a response request signal requesting a response in response to operation of instructing a start of a driving source causing a vehicle to drive. An authentication unit authenticates the mobile device and performs start control of the driving source depending on success or failure of authentication by the authentication unit. A determination unit determines a presence or an absence of unauthorized authentication for the authentication unit. A detection unit detects an authorized occupant for the vehicle. A start prohibition unit prohibits the start of the driving source when the determination unit determines that unauthorized authentication is present for the authentication unit. A start permission unit permits the start of the driving source regardless of determination by the determination unit when the detection unit detects the occupant.

A vehicle-use communication system includes an in-vehicle device and a portable device. The in-vehicle device transmits a signal from a plurality of transmitting antennas provided in a vehicle. The portable device measures the received signal strength of the signal transmitted from each of the plurality of transmitting antennas and transmits a response signal containing the received signal strength of each signal. The in-vehicle device receives the response signal and stores: small space information concerning a small space of a vehicle cabin; and large space information concerning being the entirety of the vehicle cabin. The in-vehicle device selects the small space information or the large space information in accordance with the situation, and determines whether the portable device is within the vehicle cabin on the basis of the selection of small space information or the large space information and the received signal strengths contained in the response signals.

Provided are a vehicle-mounted communication system with which a vehicle-mounted machine is able to continue receiving a wireless signal even if the signal is interrupted. When an ID signal, indicating identification information (ID) corresponding to a vehicle, and more than M (where M is a natural number) data signals, indicating control content, are caused to be included in a wireless signal by the portable machine, and the portable machine transmits the wireless signal, the portable machine adds the ID signal into the wireless signal each time M data signals have been transmitted, and continues to transmit the wireless signal. Meanwhile, each time the vehicle-mounted machine receives the ID signal included in the wireless signal, the vehicle-mounted machine verifies the identification information the received ID signal against identification information stored in a ROM, and continues to receive the wireless signal when there is a match.
