A liquid-jet recording apparatus includes a liquid-jet recording head unit to jet ink droplets toward a recording medium for printing and including an opening area through which the ink droplets fly out from the liquid-jet recording head unit, and a conveyance unit to convey the recording medium to a fore side of the opening area. The liquid-jet recording head unit includes a multi-nozzle inkjet head, a separation unit, a gas-flow application unit, and a gutter unit. The multi-nozzle inkjet head includes multiple inkjet nozzles, pressurizes ink, and emits a plurality of continuous streams of an ink. The opening area has a slit shape extending along a direction in which the multiple inkjet nozzles are arrayed. An air flow generated in the opening area has a velocity vector directed inward from the opening area.

Liquid-jet recording apparatus including multi-nozzle inkjet head for high-speed printing

A continuous multi-nozzle inkjet recording apparatus includes a multi-nozzle inkjet head including a liquid chamber, an ink nozzle plate, and a heating unit, a gas flow applicator, a cap, and a gutter unit. The ink nozzle plate includes ink jetting nozzles to jet ink column. The heating unit stimulates the pressurized ink at an exit opening of the ink jetting nozzles to separate ink droplets from the ink column. The gas flow applicator applies a gas flow to flying ink droplets. The gas flow applicator includes an opening to jet the gas flow. The cap shields an area of the gas flow from an ambient atmosphere space existing around a transporting and image forming area for the recording medium. The gutter unit catches ink droplets. Ink droplets not caught by the gutter unit are directed onto a recording medium to form an image on the recording medium.

An apparatus for fabricating a functional device mounting board comprises a holder for holding a substrate on which functional devices are to be formed, a jet head for ejecting a droplet containing a functional material onto the substrate, and a data input unit for supplying droplet ejection information to the jet head. The jet head ejects the droplets onto the substrate based on the droplet ejection information so as to form the functional device in the functional device forming area. The functional device is formed by allowing a volatile ingredient of the droplet, while allowing a solid component of the droplet to remain on the substrate.
