An air chamber serving as a breather chamber and a breather hole that communicates the outside of a case and the air chamber can be easily molded, and breather hole is provided so as to have a degree of freedom in an installation position and volume, so that oil does not easily blow out from case in which rotary electric machine is housed. Case housing rotary electric machine has an inner and outer case portion. Inner case portion has a first coupling portion. Outer case portion has a second coupling portion. The first and second coupling portions are fixed to each other. An air chamber communicated with an inside of inner case portion is formed between outer surface of inner case portion and inner surface of outer case portion. A breather hole that communicates air chamber and an outside of case is formed in outer case portion.

Rotary electric machine

A control device performs upshifting in a state in which an operating point of a rotating electrical machine for outputting requirement-based torque at wheel-based rotational speed falls within an operable range of the rotating electrical machine both before and after shifting a shift speed by the upshifting, and in which before shifting the shift speed, output torque from the rotating electrical machine is less than or equal to determination torque (T), the wheel-based rotational speed being rotational speed of the rotating electrical machine based on rotational speed (V) of a wheel, the requirement-based torque being output torque from the rotating electrical machine based on required wheel transmission torque, and the determination torque (T) being torque obtained by subtracting an amount of increased torque (&#x394;Tmg) resulting from torque increase control from maximum torque (Tmax) that can be outputted from the rotating electrical machine at the wheel-based rotational speed.

A vehicle drive system including: a rotating electric machine; an output drivingly coupled to a wheel; a differential gear device provided in a power transmission path between the rotating electric machine and the output, the differential gear device including at least a first rotating element drivingly coupled to the rotating electric machine, a second rotating element drivingly coupled to the output, and a third rotating element that is selectively fixed by a one-way clutch to a non-rotating member and that is selectively fixed by a friction brake to the non-rotating member; and a clutch that selectively couples together two of the first rotating element, the second rotating element, and the third rotating element.

Rotary electric machine control device

An oil pump having an inner rotor with of external teeth; an outer rotor that is eccentrically provided and has internal teeth that mesh with the inner rotor external teeth, and an oil pump body that accommodates the outer and inner rotors. By rotationally driving the inner rotor to increase and decrease a space between the internal and the external teeth, an intake stroke suctions hydraulic oil from the oil pump body and a discharge stroke discharges the suctioned hydraulic oil to a discharge port formed in the oil pump body. Between the intake and discharge strokes, a confinement stroke cuts off the suctioned hydraulic oil and confines the suctioned hydraulic oil in the space, and a compression stroke reduces the space and compresses the confined hydraulic oil. Further, an interval is set between a finish end portion of the intake port of the oil pump body and a start end portion of the discharge port such that a rotation angle of the inner rotor during the compression stroke is 21 to 27 degrees.

Oil pump

A multi-plate clutch including a clutch hub having a cylindrical portion; a plurality of clutch plates splined to the outer periphery of the cylindrical portion of the clutch hub, and a plurality of spline teeth being formed on the outer periphery of the cylindrical portion of the clutch hub. A recessed portion is formed on the inner side of each spline tooth, and a weir portion is formed at one end of each recessed portion by depressing one portion of the spline tooth to the inner side on one end side of the cylindrical portion. Thus forming a depressed portion, and removing, with one portion of the depressed portion left behind, a portion of the cylindrical portion on the one end side of the one portion of the depressed portion.
