Provided are a steel sheet, having sufficient strength and formability regardless of reduction of thickness, for crown caps; a method for manufacturing the same; and a crown cap. The steel sheet for crown caps has a composition containing C: 0.0010% to less than 0.0050%, Si: 0.10% or less, Mn: 0.05% to less than 0.50%, P: 0.050% or less, S: 0.050% or less, Al: more than 0.002% to less than 0.070%, N: less than 0.0040%, and B: 0.0005% to 0.0020% on a mass basis, the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and also has a yield strength of 500 MPa or more in a rolling direction, an average Lankford value (r) of 1.1 or more, and an in-plane anisotropy (&#x394;r) of Lankford value of &#x2212;0.3 to 0.3.

A can steel plate includes: equal or less than 0.0030% by mass of C; equal or less than 0.02% by mass of Si; 0.05-0.60% by mass of Mn; equal or less than 0.020% by mass of P; equal or less than 0.020% by mass of S; 0.010% to 0.100% by mass of Al; 0.0010-0.0050% by mass of N; 0.001-0.050% by mass of Nb; and balance Fe and impurities. A steel sheet containing C: 0.0005% or more and 0.0035% or less, Si: 0.05% or less, Mn: 0.1% or more and 0.6% or less, P: 0.02% or less, S: less than 0.02%, Al: 0.01% or more and less than 0.10%, N: 0.0030% or less, B: 0.0010% or more, in which the relationship B/N&#x2264;3.0 is satisfied and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and a microstructure in which the average integrated intensity f in the (111)[1-10] to (111)[-1-12] orientations on a plane parallel to a sheet surface at a position located at &#xbc; of the thickness of the steel sheet is 7.0 or more, in which an average ferrite grain size is 6.0 &#x3bc;m or more and 10.0 &#x3bc;m or less, and the relationships E&#x2265;215 GPa, E&#x2265;210 GPa, E&#x2265;210 GPa, E&#x2265;210 GPa, and &#x2212;0.4&#x2264;&#x394;r&#x2264;0.4 are satisfied.

Steel sheet for can with high barrel-part buckling strength under external pressure and with excellent formability and excellent surface properties after forming, and process for producing same

A method of manufacturing a high-strength steel sheet includes, on a mass percent basis, 0.03%-0.10% C, 0.01%-0.5% Si, 0.001%-0.100% P, 0.001%-0.020% S, 0.01%-0.10% Al, 0.005%-0.012% N, the balance being Fe and incidental impurities, and microstructures that do not contain a pearlite microstructure, wherein, when Mnf=Mn [% by mass]&#x2212;1.71&#xd7;S [% by mass], Mnf is 0.3 to 0.6, including: forming a slab by vertical-bending type continuous casting or bow type continuous casting, wherein surface temperature of a slab corner in a region where the slab undergoes bending deformation or unbending deformation is 800&#xb0; C. or lower, or 900&#xb0; C. or higher; forming a steel sheet by hot-rolling the slab followed by cold rolling; annealing the steel sheet after the cold rolling; and skinpass rolling at a draft of 3% or less after the annealing.

A steel sheet containing C: 0.02% or more and 0.10% or less, Si: 0.01% or more and 0.5% or less, P: 0.001% or more and 0.100% or less, S: 0.001% or more and 0.020% or less, N: 0.007% or more and 0.025% or less, Al: 0.01% or more and {&#x2212;4.2&#xd7;N (%)+0.11}% or less, Mnf: 0.10% or more and less than 0.30% where Mnf is defined by equation Mnf=Mn&#x2212;1.71&#xd7;S, and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, in which the steel sheet has a thickness of 0.35 (mm) or less, the product of the lower yield point (N/mm) of the steel sheet and the thickness (mm) is 160 (N/mm) or less, and the product of the upper yield point (N/mm) of the steel sheet is 52.0 (N) or more.

Steel sheet for aerosol can bottom having high pressure resistance and excellent workability and method for producing same

It is an object to provide a surface-treated steel sheet which contains no Cr, which is excellent in wet resin adhesion, and which can be used as an alternative to a conventional tin-free steel sheet and to provide a resin-coated steel sheet produced by coating the surface-treated steel sheet with resin. A surface-treated steel sheet including an adhesive layer which is disposed on at least one surface of the steel sheet and which contains Ti and at least one selected from the group consisting of Co, Fe, Ni, V, Cu, Mn, and Zn, the ratio of the total amount of Co, Fe, Ni, V, Cu, Mn, and Zn to the amount of Ti contained therein being 0.01 to ten on a mass basis, and a method for producing the surface-treated steel sheet.

Surface-treated steel sheet and resin-coated steel sheet

A high-strength, high-workability steel sheet for cans contains 0.070% to less than 0.080% C, 0.003% to 0.10% Si, 0.51% to 0.60% Mn, and the like on a mass basis and has a tensile strength of 500 MPa or more and a yield elongation of 10% or more. The average size and elongation rate of crystal grains are 5 &#x3bc;m or more and 2.0 or less, respectively, in cross section in the rolling direction thereof. The hardness difference obtained by subtracting the average Vickers hardness of a cross section ranging from a surface to a depth equal to one-eighth of the thickness of the sheet from the average Vickers hardness of a cross section ranging from a depth equal to three-eighths of the sheet thickness to a depth equal to four-eighths of the sheet thickness is 10 points or more and/or the maximum Vickers hardness difference is 20 points or more.

Steel sheet for cans and method for manufacturing the same

A method provides a slab by continuous casting of a steel having a component composition of, in mass %, C: 0.005% or less, Mn: 0.05 to 0.5%, Al: 0.01 to 0.10%, N: 0.0010 to 0.0070%, B: 0.15&#xd7;N to 0.75&#xd7;N (0.15 to 0.75 in terms of B/N), and one or both of Nb: 4&#xd7;C to 20&#xd7;C (4 to 20 in terms of Nb/C) and Ti: 2&#xd7;C to l0&#xd7;C (2 to 10 in terms of Ti/C), and the balance of Fe and inevitable impurity elements; rough rolling the slab; finish rolling the rough-rolled slab wherein 5% or more and less than 50% of the total amount of rolling reduction in the finish rolling is hot-rolled at a temperature lower than the Artransformation point; winding the hot-rolled steel sheet at a winding temperature of 640 to 750 &#xb0; C.; pickling the coiled steel sheet; cold rolling the pickled steel sheet at a rolling reduction rate of 88 to 96%; and annealing the cold-rolled steel sheet in a temperature range of higher than 400 &#xb0; C. to a temperature that is 20 &#xb0; C. lower than the recrystallization temperature.

Manufacturing method of steel sheet for cans

A tin-plated steel sheet includes a plating layer containing tin on at least one surface of a steel sheet, and a chemical conversion coating containing P and tin on the plating layer is provided. In the steel sheet, a coated amount of the chemical conversion coating per surface is 1.0 to 50 mg/min terms of P, an atomic ratio Sn/P obtained from the intensity of a P2p peak and that of a Sn3d peak is 1.0 to 1.5, the intensities being measured at the surface using an x-ray photoelectron spectroscopic method, and an atomic ratio O/P obtained from the intensity of the P2p peak and that of an O1s peak is 4.0 to 9.0. The phosphoric acid-based chemical conversion coating of the tin-plated steel sheet can suppress degradation in performance, which is caused by the growth of a tin oxide layer on the surface, instead of a conventional chromate coating.
