The measuring mode selecting unit selects the measuring mode when the estimated power consumption in the non-measurement mode is beyond a target power consumption range for a corresponding function from the storage unit.

When first image data, which is in a first color space, is converted into second image data, which is in a second color space corresponding to an image output unit. Upon converting the image data, if the first image data is color data, background removal process is switched OFF. Otherwise, the background removal process is switched ON.
