An image processing apparatus includes a memory and circuitry. The memory is configured to store a result of inspection. The inspection includes: comparison of a sample image data and a first read image data that is data of an image formed on a recording medium and read; and determination whether the image indicated by the first read image data is abnormal. The memory is configured to store the result of inspection in association with the image determined as an abnormal image. The circuitry is configured to receive second read image data from a discarding apparatus. The circuitry is configured to specify image data according to which an image is formed, based on the abnormal image stored in the memory and the second read image data received. The circuitry is configured to instruct formation of the image according to the image data specified.

A front operation panel is provided on a housing of an electrically controlled sewing machine, which provides a pattern list indicating a plurality of stitch patterns in a specific pattern group. One of the stitch patterns may be selected in direct reference to the pattern indication and the selected one is represented in a display section in the operational panel. The operational panel comprises a display board having the pattern list and the display section and a transparent cover superposed on the display board which includes a plurality of pressure-sensitive elements to be selectively depressed to designate the pattern indication in the pattern list. The display board may be switched to another information menu which is applicable to input operation of an original stitch pattern by successively inputting needle dropping points which should be enough to define a configuration of the original stitch pattern. The original stitch pattern thus registered may be included in the pattern list, which will now become selectable by depression of the corresponding elements in the transparent cover.

An apparatus of a sewing machine for indicating elongated pattern length is disclosed, wherein memory means normally stores a number of pattern data for forming the stitches of different patterns with a standard stitch amplitude and a standard fabric feed pitch, pattern selection means is selectively operated to select a desired pattern from the pattern data storing memory, amplitude setting means is optionally operated to set the amplitude value of the selected pattern, indication means indicates an amplitude value of the selected pattern set by the amplitude setting means, pattern elongation setting means is optionally operated to set a pattern elongating magnification value, discrimination means judges whether the selected pattern is elongatable or not, and means is provided for displaying the pattern elongating magnification value in the indicating means.

A selected pattern display device of a sewing machine is disclosed wherein pattern selecting means is selectively operated to select stitch data for a pattern from a plurality of patterns including a straight stitch pattern stored in pattern storage means, amplitude selecting means is selectively operated to select a numeral value for determining the amplitude of the selected pattern, and display means is provided to display the selected pattern and the numeral value of the selected pattern, discriminating means is responsive to operation of the pattern selecting means to discriminate if the selected pattern is the straight stitch pattern, the discriminating means producing a signal, if the selected pattern is the straight stitch pattern, straight display data storage means is responsive to the signal from the straight stitch pattern discriminating means and a numeral value selected by operation of the amplitude selecting means to produce graphic data representing the straight stitch pattern of a determined needle position within a predetermined maximum needle swingable range, which is displayed in the display means.
