An electric driver includes a hook portion which is constituted by a deformable hook-like portion and a connecting portion for connecting the hook-like portion to the handle. The hook-like portion is constituted by a base portion connected to the connecting portion and a bent portion continuous to the base portion, and a front end portion continuous to the bent portion and arranged at a position substantially opposed to the base portion. The front end portion and the base portion can be proximate to and remote from each other. The connecting portion holds the hook-like portion in a direction substantially the same as a direction in which the handle extends. The hook-like portion is pivotably held on a first rotating axis center extending in substantially the same direction as the handle.

The spring has at least one of a spring constant and a biasing force which prevents the second ratchet and the spindle from abutting against the main frame at least one of when a force ranging from 15 to 25 kg is applied to the main frame for boring the workpiece and when the spindle is moved to a retracted position.

Motor-driven tool

An impact drill includes a first ratchet together with a spindle and movable in an axial direction, and a second ratchet engageable with the first ratchet. The second ratchet can be moved in the axial direction, and rotated with a predetermined range in a rotational direction.

An impact drill minimizing transmission of vibration to a handle gripped by a user's hand. A spindle extends through a main frame and is movable in its axial direction and rotatable about its axis. A first ratchet is rotatable and axially movable together with the spindle. A second ratchet is axially movable but unrotatable. In an impact drilling mode, the first ratchet is brought into abutment with the second ratchet so that the spindle is reciprocally moved in the axial direction.

An impact drill includes a first ratchet rotating along with a spindle and movable in an axial direction, a second ratchet engaged with the first ratchet and movable in a axial direction but unrotatable, and a spring provided between the second ratchet and a partial member of a housing. An amount of movement of the spindle in the axial direction is regulated, so that the pressing force is too excessive, the restoring force of the spring urging the second ratchet is controlled to maintain a state of generating a set stroke force.

A power tool includes a powered drive source, a speed reduction mechanism portion for transmitting a rotational power of the drive source, a striking mechanism portion for converting the rotational power of the speed reduction mechanism portion into a striking force, an end tool for outputting the striking force and a rotational force through the striking mechanism portion, and an impact damping mechanism for damping the impact of the end tool in a direction of rotation of the speed reduction mechanism.

In a motor-driven tool, a carbon brush part is arranged between a suction port and a commutator of the motor and includes a cylindrical side wall . The cylindrical side wall located on an outer periphery of the commutator is provided with a tapered portion which grows wider toward the commutator and grows narrower toward a coil end of the armature. Between the carbon brush part and the coil end , there is provided a heat radiating plate made of metal and adapted to be engaged with the carbon brush part
