On the basis of a first route for a vehicle from an origin to a destination and electricity information of electricity stored in an in-vehicle battery in which electricity to be used for travel of the vehicle is stored, the emission level calculator calculates a first emission level of carbon dioxide to be caused by travel of the vehicle on the first route. Furthermore, on the basis of a second route for public transportation from the origin to the destination, the emission level calculator calculates a second emission level of carbon dioxide to be caused by travel of the public transportation on the second route. The display displays information based on the first emission level and the second emission level.

A sensor of a status determination device detects a magnitude of a terminal voltage of an auxiliary battery provided separately from a driving battery and a magnitude of a current flowing through the auxiliary battery. The driving battery is an electrical power source for a driving motor of a vehicle, and the auxiliary battery is an electrical power source for auxiliary equipment and has an output voltage lower than that of the driving battery. An internal resistance calculator calculates an internal resistance of the auxiliary battery based on the magnitude of the terminal voltage and the magnitude of the current detected by the sensor in a stable period that is before the auxiliary equipment is started and in which the magnitude of the terminal voltage and the magnitude of the current fall within predetermined fluctuation ranges, and those detected in a period after starting of the auxiliary equipment is detected.

Auxiliary battery status determination device and auxiliary battery status determination method

A battery state estimation device includes a detecting part, a state of charge (SOC) estimating part, an open circuit voltage (OCV) estimating part, a terminal voltage estimating part, and a correcting part. The detecting part detects a charge-discharge current and a terminal voltage of a battery. The SOC estimating part estimates an SOC of the battery, based on the charge-discharge current detected by the detecting part. The OCV estimating part estimates an OCV of the battery, based on the SOC estimated by the SOC estimating part and a relationship between an OCV and the SOC of the battery. The terminal voltage estimating part calculates an estimated terminal voltage, based on the charge-discharge current and the terminal voltage detected by the detecting part and on an equivalent circuit model constructed using an inversely proportional curve. The correcting part corrects the SOC estimated by the SOC estimating part, based on the estimated terminal voltage calculated by the terminal voltage estimating part and the terminal voltage detected by the detecting part.

Battery state estimation device and method of estimating battery state

A battery state determining device includes a voltage measuring part, a remaining capacity estimating part, an internal resistance measuring part, a calculating part, and an estimating part. The voltage measuring part measures an open-circuit voltage of a storage battery. Based on the measured open-circuit voltage, the remaining capacity estimating part estimates a remaining capacity of the storage battery. The internal resistance measuring part measures an internal resistance in the storage battery. Based on the measured internal resistance, the calculating part calculates a degradation rate of the internal resistance. Based on the estimated remaining capacity and the calculated degradation rate of the internal resistance, the estimating part performs first estimation on a degradation state of the storage battery.

A battery class determination device includes a detector for sensing a terminal voltage and charge/discharge currents of a lead storage battery, an inner resistance calculator for calculating a direct-current inner resistance of the lead storage battery based on the terminal voltage and the charge or discharge current sensed by the detector, and a class determiner. The inner resistance calculator calculates, at a switchover between a discharge control and a charge control over the lead storage battery, a direct-current inner resistance in a first period before the switchover, and a direct-current inner resistance in a second period after the switchover. The class determiner determines a class of the lead storage battery based on the direct-current inner resistance in the first period and the direct-current inner resistance in the second period.

The battery system is a combined system of a first battery and a second battery. The discharging curve (discharging characteristic) () of the first battery has a stable region (B). The present invention provides a power source system that increases the power supply capacity of a power source device and continuously supplies the power necessary for a load device when a power source device stops. A control unit has a state quantity setting unit that sets a first target state quantity indicating a state of charge of the power storage device that is to be a target value when charge and discharge of the power storage device are controlled. When the power source device stops, the state quantity setting unit can change the first target state quantity to a second target state quantity that is to be a target value exceeding the first target state quantity and can increase the target state quantity of the power storage device. As a result, when the power source device stops, charge and discharge of the power storage device are controlled on the basis of the target state quantity exceeding that during the operation of the power source device. Therefore, the state of charge of the power storage device can be improved over that during the operation of the power source device. A temperature control section controls the quantity of heat by means of which a heater heats a secondary battery formed by combination of a plurality of battery modules made by series connection of multiple single cells. The temperature control section detects a rate of temporal changes in an open circuit voltage of the secondary battery. When a detected rate of temporal changes in open circuit voltage has exceeded a predetermined threshold voltage value, the heater is controlled to thus diminish the quantity of heat used for heating the secondary battery.
