An optical receiver module includes light-receiving elements each having a first electrode and a second electrode to which a bias is applied, and converting input optical signals into electric signals and outputting the electric signals from the first electrodes, and a carrier having wiring patterns respectively electrically connecting to the light-receiving elements and supporting the light-receiving elements. The wiring pattern includes a first wiring line electrically connecting to the first electrode and a second wiring line electrically connecting to the second electrode. The second wiring line has a high resistance portion having a higher resistance value than the other portions at least in a position overlapping with the light-receiving element to be connected and a low resistance portion having a lower resistance value than the high resistance portion at least in a position not overlapping with any of the light-receiving elements.

Optical receiver module and optical module

An optical receiver module includes a light receiving element that has a first electrode and a second electrode for receiving a bias and converts an optical signal inputted into an electrical signal to output the electrical signal via the first electrode. A signal line extends from the first electrode through the light receiving element-side signal pad and the second wire to the amplifier-side signal pad. A bias line extends from the second electrode through the light receiving element-side bias pad, the first wire, and the third wire to the first and second amplifier-side bias pads. The signal line three-dimensionally intersects with the bias line at an interval in a direction of the loop height of the first wire and that of the second wire.

An electrical interface includes an insulating body, first electrodes, and second electrodes. The insulating body includes a first front edge surface and a second front edge surface facing in a direction along a transmission direction of an optical signal at an optical interface and having different heights. The first electrode and the second electrode are provided on the insulating body so as to have a thickness from the first front edge surface and the second front edge surface in a direction of the height. A first flexible wiring board and a second flexible wiring board include a first area and a second area extending in directions along the first front edge surface and the second front edge surface, respectively, of the insulating body, and include, in the first area and the second area, first pads and second pads electrically connected with the first electrodes and the second electrodes.

Optical module

A flexible wiring board includes a conductive film provided on one surface of a substrate. The conductive film includes a plurality of pad portions to which a plurality of connection electrodes are respectively bonded with solder, and a wiring portion extending in a direction crossing a row in which the plurality of pad portions are arranged. The plurality of pad portions include a terminal portion electrically connected with the wiring portion, and at least two land portions located on both sides of the terminal portion while avoiding electrical connection to the wiring portion. The solder includes land solder portions respectively overlaid on the at least two land portions and a terminal solder portion overlaid on the terminal portion. The land solder portion has a shape extending longer than the terminal solder portion along a direction in which the wiring portion extends from the connection electrode corresponding thereto.

An optical receiver module includes a light receiving element that converts a received light signal into an electric signal, a bias pad supplied with a bias power. The bias pad is included in the light receiving element and/or a carrier on which the light receiving element is mounted. The optical receiver module also includes a thin film resistor arranged in contact with the bias pad so as to connect in parallel to the bias pad. An electric resistance of the thin film resistor is larger than an electric resistance of the bias pad. The optical receiver module further includes an amplifier that amplifies the electric signal.

Provided is an optical receiver including a first delay interferometer, a second delay interferometer, and an input light splitting portion for inputting modulated light. The first delay interferometer includes a first light splitting portion for splitting the input light into first light and second light, a first reflecting portion and a second reflecting portion for causing the first light and the second light to return to the first light splitting portion. The second delay interferometer includes a second light splitting portion for splitting the input light into third light and fourth light, a third reflecting portion and a fourth reflecting portion for causing the third light and the fourth light to return to the second light splitting portion. A region between the first light splitting portion and the second reflecting portion intersects with a region between the second light splitting portion and the fourth reflecting portion.

Optical receiver

A light-receiving device array includes a photodiode array that is provided with plural light-receiving sections each of which includes a first conductivity type electrode and a second conductivity type electrode, and a carrier, wherein the carrier includes plural pair of electric lines each of which is formed from a first electric line connected to the first conductivity type electrode of each light-receiving section, and a second electric line connected to the second conductivity type electrode of the light-receiving section, a first ground electrode that extends between one pair of electric lines of the plural pair of electric lines and a pair of electric lines adjacent to the one pair of electric lines, and a second ground electrode that is formed on a part of the rear surface and is electrically connected to the first ground electrode.

Light-receiving device array, optical receiver module, and optical transceiver

Provided is an optical module, including: an optical system having an optical path in a space thereof; an electro-optical device optically connected to a first input/output port as one of an input port and an output port of the optical system; an optical waveguide having flexibility; and a housing including an optical interface. The optical waveguide includes: a first connection portion optically connected to the optical interface in the housing; and a second connection portion optically connected to a second input/output port as another one of the input port and the output port of the optical system. The optical waveguide is arranged so as to be bent in the housing. A first optical axis passing between the optical interface and the first connection portion is displaced from a second optical axis passing between the second input/output port and the second connection portion.

An optical phase shifter according to the invention includes the thermo-optical element of which a refractive index with respect to an input optical signal changes dependently on temperature; a temperature change section, having contact with one end of the thermo-optical element and of which a temperature changes so that a temperature of the thermo-optical element becomes a desired temperature; a heat dissipation section being disposed on an opposite side of the thermo-optical element with respect to the temperature change section and going into a state of thermal equilibrium at a temperature different from the temperature of the temperature change section; and a temperature buffer section, being disposed between the temperature change section and the heat dissipation section, having contact with the temperature change section and the heat dissipation section, and having a heat resistance greater than that of the heat dissipation section.

Optical phase shifter and demodulator

An optical module having a flexible substrate having, even after actual manufacturing steps, excellent transmission characteristics of high-frequency signals and an advantage that electromagnetic field radiation is reduced even when it is connected with a package. The flexible substrate used in external connection of the package of the optical module uses a flexible substrate having a coplanar line to which a lead pin is fixedly attached, a grounded coplanar line which is in contact with the coplanar region, and a microstrip line which is in contact with the grounded coplanar line. The flexible substrate has an electrode layout in which an electromagnetic field component of a surface ground line and a signal line is more dominant than an electromagnetic field component of a back-surface ground line and the signal line in a region of the coplanar line adjacent to the grounded coplanar line.

A structure which stably achieves electrical coupling, and is capable of efficient optical coupling is provided. Optical coupling is achieved with the lower surface of an opto-electric package and the upper surface of an opto-electric hybrid board. On the other hand, electrical connection is achieved by means of contact between electrodes on the side surfaces of the opto-electric package and electrodes on the inner-wall side surfaces of a socket mounted on the opto-electric hybrid board. The electrodes are in electrical contact with electrical wiring.

A metal pattern for a high frequency signal is patterned on a flexile substrate, and the flexile substrate is bent in such a way as to form a substantially right angle at a spot corresponding to an end of the metal pattern for the signal. And an end of the metal pattern is fixedly attached to a lead pin for signaling, attached to a stem, for electrical continuity, so as to be in a posture horizontal with each other. Meanwhile, a part of the lead pins attached to the stem, being in such a state as penetrated through respective holes provided in the flexible substrate, is fixedly attached to a part of metal patterns provided on the flexible substrate so as to ensure electrical continuity therebetween.
