A latitudinal division type assist grip having a sufficient load bearing capacity is provided. The assist grip includes an outer cylinder member, a first divisional body, a second divisional body, and an elastic reinforcement member. A first fitting end portion of the first divisional body and a second fitting end portion of the second divisional body are fitted to each other inside the outer cylinder member. The elastic reinforcement member is interposed between an inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder member and the first fitting end portion, and presses the first fitting end portion toward the second fitting end portion.

Assist grip

An occupant restraining device (S) is provided with: a shielding member () to be let off from the peripheral edge (DW/VW) of a vehicle window (WF) arranged in a door of a vehicle, so as to shield the window; and a let-off means () for letting off the housed shielding member () so as to shield the window (WF). The shielding member () and the let-off means () are arranged in the door (FD). A garnish () is arranged on the peripheral edge of the door (FD) for covering the housed shielding member () so that the shielding member () is let off. An airbag device (ABM) can be arranged in the vehicle without any problem even if the occupant restraining device (S) is mounted together with the airbag device (ABM) on the vehicle.

A head protection air bag apparatus comprises an air bag, an air bag cover for covering the air bag, an inflator for supplying the air bag with a gas for inflation, and an assist grip. The inflator is fixed to a body of a vehicle at a location toward the exterior side of a vehicle relative to the assist grip. The assist grip is provided on its exterior surface with a cover layer having the characteristic of a cushion, so that an impact with the inflator will be cushioned by the assist grip.

Head protection air bag apparatus

In a radiator grill guard mounted on the front of a vehicle, a guard main body is a one-piece molded structure, shaped like a square ring, by using synthetic resin, for example, filler containing polypropylene. The guard main body is hollowed by a known blow molding method. A fog-lamp mounting part is provided at the middle of each of the vertically extending sections of the guard main body. A fog lamp is mounted on each fog-lamp mounting part with the aid of an L-shaped bracket. A plurality of, preferable two, plate-like ribs, that extend parallel to each other, are integrally formed within the inner apace of each vertically extending section, while also extending across that inner space. The plurality of plate-like ribs are longitudinally (vertically) extended between the upper and lower body mounting parts of each of the vertically extending sections. The plate-like ribs serve as reinforcing plates for reinforcing a portion of the vertically extending sections which include the body mounting parts and the fog-lamp mounting part.

A window molding for automobiles, which is installed around the periphery of a windshield, including a leg and a head. The head is formed to permit the creation of two different water guide portions extending along the molding, one that will function along the roof line and another along the side edge of the windshield. The side water guide portion prevents water from going from the windshield to the side windows. The roof line water guide portion opens toward the window frame and prevents water from flowing from the roof onto the windshield.

Window molding for automobiles

A cowl louver for a vehicle permits fresh air to flow into an air intake and prevents entry of snow into the air intake. The cowl louver has a plate-like shaped base and includes at least one mesh portion, formed on the base, in which are formed a plurality of tapered air holes. Each tapered air hole is formed so that the direction of taper is directed inwardly with the larger opening facing to the exterior. Each tapered air hole has a rate of taper that is greater than about 0.1 per each mm of thickness of the mesh portion.

Cowl louver

An ornamental panel for automobiles has a synthetic resin cover. An attaching base is molded separately from the cover and disposed opposite a rear surface of the cover. The cover is molded of a translucent material. The cover has its outer surface made smooth and its inner surface formed with a fine rugged pattern such as crimps. The base has a surface with a rugged pattern of a dimension larger than a dimension of the crimps of the cover. The pattern of the base may be hemispheric concave fisheyes which are two-dimensionally arranged side by side, for example. A metallic film is coated on the pattern of the base.

A molding to be attached to either side or the like of a car body comprising a molding main member with a metallic insert provided on the back side of the molding main member, a plurality of separate retainers made of resin are fitted in the insert at different positions and a plurality of fixing members which are adapted to fix the molding main member to the car body are coupled to the retainers.

A molding is disclosed which is constituted by a main molding body formed in an elongated plate-like shape made of soft resin and having a fitting hole passing therethrough in the thickness direction thereof. The molding further has a retainer which is inserted into the fitting hole from the reverse side of the main molding body and a fitting part made of a hard resin which is inserted into the fitting hole from the obverse side of the main molding body, wherein the fitting part is mechanically secured to the retainer to allow the fitting part to be secured to the main molding body. The fitting part has a first seating surface which abuts against the obverse side of the main molding body, and the retainer has a second seating surface which abuts against the reverse side of the main molding body, wherein the main molding body is held and pressed between the first seating surface and the second seating surface.

A flush mounting molding of the present invention has a strip-shaped head covering a channel formed between a window frame and a windshield glass of an automobile, and a leg, to be inserted and installed into the channel, having a window frame contacting lip and a windshield glass receiving lip and formed integrally and vertically on the bottom surface of the strip-shaped head. The window frame contacting lip is divided into a plurality of window frame contacting lip members by slits in the longitudinal direction thereof, and the length of the window frame contacting lip members is varied in the direction toward the window frame. Thus, some of the window frame contacting lip members contact with the window frame in approximately perpendicular manner. Accordingly, the flush mounting molding does not come out of the channel. Thus, no defective automobile assembly due to the come-out occurs, and the productivity of the automobile assembly is improved.

In a decorative member having a transparent layer with a lens effect, a base having a decorative face is covered with the transparent layer with a lens effect. A chevron projection is continuously provided on the boundary between faces constituting the decorative face to emphasize the intersection of the faces.

An arcuate side molding to be attached to a curved surface of an automobile body avoiding holes being formed therein. The arcuate side molding comprises a resin plate having projections formed in the backside thereof, and an intermediate member provided with slots for receiving the projections of the resin plate. In assembling the resin plate and the intermediate member, the projections are inserted through the slots of intermediate member, and then the tips of the projections are heat caulked to join the intermediate member to the resin plate so that the resin plate is slidable relative to the intermediate member and the resin plate will not be separated from the resin plate.
