A middle ear sound transmission characteristics evaluation system includes a probe; a measuring probe that includes an actuator that vibrates the probe and a force sensor that outputs a voltage in accordance with a reaction force exerted to the actuator when a tip of the probe is brought into contact with ossicles; an electrode that is installed on or near a round window and detects a potential value of a cochlear microphonic when vibration is applied to the ossicles by the probe; a database that stores a sensor voltage value output by the force sensor before surgical treatment, the potential value detected by the electrode, and surgical details; and a surgical details proposing unit that proposes selected surgical details on the basis of the magnitude of at least one of the sensor voltage value and the potential value measured before surgery with reference to the database.

A method for controlling an insect pest with vibrations, including a step of determining a frequency range and an amplitude range of vibrations in a habitat medium of an insect pest that induce or suppress a specific behavior of the insect pest, and a step of controlling the insect pest behavior by applying vibrations in the frequency range and amplitude range once or two or more times in the insect pest habitat medium.

Method for controlling insect pest by vibration

Provided is a high-accuracy embedded audiphone. A transducer () made of a giant magnetostrictive element is provided in an intracorporeal unit () that is embedded in a skull (). An audible sound modulation transmission signal (S), which is amplitude-modulated by a sound collection signal generated in an extracorporeal unit (), is transmitted from an extracorporeal transmitter coil () to an intracorporeal receiver coil () provided in the intracorporeal unit () with the help of a transmission magnetic flux (). Moreover, because of an induced electromotive force of the intracorporeal receiver coil (), the transducer () expands and contracts. Therefore, it is possible to highly accurately conduct an audible sound signal through bone with no power source or demodulation circuit provided in the intracorporeal unit ().
