A head includes the passageway member which is configured by a plurality of plates stacked through the adhesive and in which the ink passageways are configured by communication of the through holes individually formed in the plurality of plates to each other. The plurality of plates includes the resin plate and a plurality of metal plates. The resin plate does not have a relief groove for the adhesive. The plurality of metal plates include the eighth metal plate and/or ninth metal plate which is adhered to the resin plate and includes the relief groove for the adhesive on the resin plate side.

Inkjet head and printer

In a head, a passageway member has a nozzle which is opened in a first major surface, and a pressurizing chamber which is communicated with the nozzle and is positioned on a second major surface side as the back face of the first major surface. A piezoelectric actuator substrate is superimposed on the second major surface and covers over the pressurizing chamber. An FPChas an insulating base film, an interconnect which is provided on one major surface of the base film, and an insulating film covering the interconnect, and makes its insulating film side face to the side of the piezoelectric actuator substrate which is opposite to the passageway member side. Above the pressurizing chambers, a thickness T of the insulating film from the base film is different between one side and the other side in a predetermined direction along the second major surface.

Inkjet head and printer for reducing influence of flexible circuit on piezoelectric actuator substrate operation

A driving device, and a liquid discharge head and a recording apparatus using the driving device are provided which permit precise printing under various conditions. The driving device includes a latch signal generation circuit for generating a latch signal every Tc seconds; a delay time retention circuit for retaining data of delay times of less than Tc seconds; a plurality of first latch circuits which are capable of retaining one-line pixel data, and latch pixel data from outside by the latch signal; a plurality of second latch circuits which are divided into a plurality of second latch circuit groups, and latch pixel data retained in the plurality of first latch circuits after the delay time of data retained in the delay time retention circuit for each of the second latch circuit groups is passed after the latch signal is transmitted; and a driving signal transmission circuit.

Driving device for driving liquid discharge head, recording apparatus, and recording method

An ink jet head is presented that decreases the density in wiring patterns to be connected to a large number of actuator terminals formed on a main body of the ink jet head while ensuring large spacing between the wirings. The ink jet head comprises a main body, a driver IC, and a sheet. The main body comprises a plurality of nozzles, a plurality of pressure chambers, a plurality of actuators, and a plurality of actuator terminals distributed on a surface of the main body. The driver IC can select any actuator terminal among the plurality of actuator terminals and transmit a driving voltage to the selected actuator terminal. The sheet mounts the driver IC at a first surface of the sheet and is fixed to the main body at a second surface. The sheet comprises a plurality of input terminals, a plurality of output terminals distributed on the second surface, a plurality of first wirings connecting the input terminals and the driver IC, and a plurality of second wirings connecting the driver IC and the output terminals. Output terminals of the sheet are connected to the actuator terminals of the main body. The second wiring penetrates the sheet.

Ink jet head

The past print data of plural heating resistance elements adjacently disposed are stored and latched in first latching circuit, the present print data is stored and latched in second latching circuit, and corresponding to the latched outputs of these first and second latching circuits, when the heating resistance elements have printed in the past and when the heating resistance elements adjacently to both sides of each heating resistance element are presently used in printing, it is controlled so as to shorten the driving time. As a result, blurring of the print due to excessive temperature rise of the heating resistance elements may be suppressed. Hence, the printing quality may be enhanced.

Apparatus for driving heating elements of a thermal head

Disclosed is a thermal head comprising: plural heating elements, and a driving circuit element comprising plural switching elements connected individually to the heating elements, gate elements connected individually to the switching elements, and a shift register connected to the gate elements; wherein the plural heating elements are divided into plural blocks, and the gate elements of each block are connected to plural shift registers in the same number of bits as the number of heating elements of each block individually; strobe signals in the same number as the number of divisions of the block are fed into gate elements corresponding to each block; a clock gate element is provided in each block in order to obstruct clock input into the shift register corresponding to each block when printing of each block is active; and each block is further divided into plural small blocks, and the heating elements corresponding to each small block are disposed in every different block.

Thermal head and method for driving the same

By dividing plural heating elements of a thermal head into plural blocks, when heating and driving by connecting drive circuit elements to the blocks, print data and control signals are fed to the drive circuit elements either parallel or in series to the drive circuit elements. In this case it is sometimes difficult to form fine circuit wirings on the insulating substrate, or buffers are needed for amplifying the signals when sequentially transferring print data among drive circuit elements. Therefore, a flexible wiring substrate is disposed near the drive circuit elements on the insulating substrate, and plural signal lines over the arranging range of the drive circuit elements, and connection lines for supplying signals to the drive circuit elements from the signal lines are formed on the wiring substrate. On the insulating substrate, connection lines of flexible wiring substrate and connection lines for connecting with the drive circuit elements are formed.
