In a rotary compressor, a lower end plate cover is formed in a shape of a flat plate, and has a through hole that is provided to penetrate in the thickness direction of the lower end plate cover and that communicates with a communication groove. When a sectional area of the communication groove which passes through a center line of a rotation shaft, and is on a section along the rotation shaft direction is S1 [mm], an area in which the through hole and the communication groove overlap each other on a plane orthogonal to the rotation shaft is S2 [mm], and an excluding capacity of a lower cylinder chamber is V [cc], each of 0.10&#x2264;(S2/V)&#x2264;0.50, and 1.0&#x2264;(S2/S1)&#x2264;7.0 is satisfied.

Rotary compressor

A rotary compressor includes a sealed longitudinal compressor housing which is provided with a discharge portion of a refrigerant at an upper portion thereof, is provided with an inlet portion of a refrigerant at a lower portion thereof, and in which lubricant oil is stored; a compressing unit which is disposed in the compressor housing, compresses a refrigerant sucked from the inlet portion and discharges the refrigerant from the discharge portion; a motor which is disposed in the compressor housing and drives the compressing unit via a rotation shaft; and an accumulator which is attached to a side portion of the compressor housing and is connected to the inlet portion of the refrigerant. When an inner diameter of a cylinder constituting the compressing unit is referred to as Dc, a height of the cylinder is referred to as Hc, and an eccentric amount of an eccentric portion of the rotation shaft is referred to as e, Dc, Hc, and e are set so that a value obtained by an expression (e+Hc)&#xb7;(Dc&#x2212;e)/(e&#xb7;Hc)is less than 4.1.

An upper piston of a rotary compressor is formed to satisfy 0.7&#xd7;Hcy1/1000&#x2264;&#x3b4;ro&#x2264;1.2&#xd7;Hcy1/1000, Cro1&#x2264;0.1, Cro2&#x2264;0.1, and Cro1&#xd7;Cro2&#x2264;0.007. Here, Cro1 indicates a length (mm) of an upper side piston outer circumferential chamfer portion in a height direction, and Cro2 indicates a length (mm) of the upper side piston outer circumferential chamfer portion in a normal line direction of a piston outer circumferential surface. An upper vane is formed to satisfy 0.7&#xd7;Hcy1/1000&#x2264;&#x3b4;v&#x2264;1.2&#xd7;Hcy1/1000, Cv1&#x2264;0.06, Cv2&#x2264;0.06, and Cv1&#xd7;Cv2&#x2264;0.003. Here, Cv1 indicates a length (mm) of an upper side vane ridge line chamfer portion in a height direction, and Cv2 indicates a length (mm) of the upper side vane ridge line chamfer portion in a normal line direction of a vane tip end surface.

In a rotary compressor, a lower end plate cover is formed in a flat plate shape, a lower discharge chamber concave portion is formed in a lower end plate to overlap a lower discharge hole side of a lower discharge valve accommodation concave portion, and the lower discharge chamber concave portion is formed in a fan-like range between a diametrical line passing through a center of a sub-bearing unit and a midpoint of a line segment connecting a center of the lower discharge hole and a center of a lower rivet to each other and a diametrical line opened by a pitch angle 90&#xb0; in a direction of the lower discharge hole about the center of the sub-bearing unit. At least a portion of a refrigerant path hole overlaps the lower discharge chamber concave portion and is disposed at a position communicating with the lower discharge chamber concave portion.

In a rotary compressor, a protruding portion which protrudes downward from a bottom end of a rotation shaft and in which an outer diameter is smaller than an outer diameter of a sub-bearing unit is formed on the sub-bearing unit which is provided on a lower end plate, a step portion is formed between the protruding portion and the sub-bearing unit, and a center hole of a lower end plate cover is caused to mate with the protruding portion and is caused to come into close contact with the step portion.

At least three axis direction through-holes arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction are provided in a rotor laminated steel plate and a rotor end plate. The rotor laminated steel plate and the rotor end plate are fixed with three rivets for passing through the axis direction through-holes. A balance weight formed of one laminated metal plate is fixed to the one rotor end plate with two rivets of the three rivets. A balance weight formed of the other laminated metal plate is integrated by caulking and has a projection formed thereon and fixed to the other rotor end plate with the remaining single rivet. The projection is engaged with a recess or a through-hole provided in the other rotor end plate so that the balance weight is positioned to the other rotor end plate.

On a plane orthogonal to the rotation shaft, an upper muffler chamber has a plurality of flared portions that are flared from a center of a rotation shaft toward between penetrating bolts and a plurality of small-diameter portions that connect between the flared portions, are apart from penetrating bolts, and are formed on a center side of the rotation shaft from the penetrating bolts. A muffler outlet is provided in each flared portion. A second outlet and a refrigerant path hole of an upper end plate are positioned on an inside of one of a plurality of flared portions, and an opening area of the muffler outlet of one flared portion is greater than an opening area of the muffler outlet of each of the other flared portions.

A rotary compressor includes a compression unit that includes an annular cylinder including a cylinder inner wall, a suction port, and a vane groove, an end plate covering an end portion of the cylinder, an annular piston revolving in the cylinder to form an actuation chamber between the cylinder inner wall and the annular piston; and a vane protruding into the actuation chamber to divide the actuation chamber into a suction chamber and a compression chamber. A discharge port, which is provided in the end plate near the vane groove, communicates with the compression chamber, and a discharge groove, which is provided in the cylinder inner wall near the vane groove, communicates the compression chamber with the discharge port, and one side end portion of the discharge groove is located in an end portion of a wall portion of the vane groove on the compression chamber side.

A rotary compressor, used e.g. in an air conditioner, includes a compressing unit having an end plate that closes an end portion of an annular cylinder. The end plate includes a groove portion accommodating a discharge valve portion having a reed valve type discharge valve and a discharge-valve limiter. The discharge valve portion is attached to the groove portion with a rivet. The groove portion has a rivet-side enlarged diameter portion formed into a semicircular step shape, and a diameter of the rivet-side enlarged diameter portion other than a bottom side thereof is larger than a diameter of the bottom side. This prevents a punch P that swages the rivet from interfering with the groove portion when attaching the discharge valve portion to the groove portion with the rivet.
