A beam irradiation target verification apparatus includes an X-ray switching emission process unit that causes a vertical X-ray emitting unit to emit at least two types of X-rays using an energy-level switching unit, a vertical X-ray detection unit that detects an X-ray emitted from the vertical X-ray emitting unit, a pre-therapy verification image generation process unit, a reference image acquisition unit that acquires a reference image obtained at a therapy planning stage, a comparison process unit. The pre-therapy verification image generation process unit to generate pre-therapy verification images based on detection information of at least two types of X-rays obtained by the vertical X-ray detection unit. The comparison process unit makes comparisons between the pre-therapy verification images and the reference image, and the result output unit outputs a comparison result obtained by the comparison process unit.

Beam irradiation target confirmation device

Provided is an irradiation planning apparatus including: a three-dimensional CT value data acquisition unit (); a prescription data input processing unit () which acquires prescription data; a stopping power ratio conversion unit () and a nuclear reaction effective density conversion unit () which respectively generate first conversion data () and second conversion data () on the basis of three-dimensional CT value data; and a calculation unit () which calculates a dose distribution on the basis of the prescription data, the first conversion data (), and the second conversion data (), wherein the stopping power ratio conversion unit () and the nuclear reaction effective density conversion unit () perform correction processing for correcting data obtained from the three-dimensional CT value data, using a physical quantity indicative of a likelihood of spalling particles of incident charged particle beam (), and then determine the dose distribution. Thus, in calculation of a dose distribution in a body in particle beam irradiation planning, a dose error introduced by a difference between the probability of nuclear reaction initiated, in a body, by incident particles and the probability of nuclear reaction initiated, in water, by incident particles is simply and accurately corrected.

Irradiation planning apparatus and irradiation plan correction method

A planning apparatus () determines irradiation parameter data () for a charged particle irradiation system (), which radiates charged particles generated by an ion source () to a target () by accelerating the charged particles by means of a linear accelerator () and a synchrotron (). The planning apparatus is provided with: a planning program (), which determines the irradiation parameter data () with respect to one target () by combining charged particles of a plurality of kinds of ion species; and a CPU () for executing the planning program. Consequently, the irradiation planning apparatus capable of performing irradiation with desirable dose distribution with respect to the target, the irradiation planning program, an irradiation plan determining method, and the charged particle irradiation system are provided.

Irradiation planning apparatus and charged particle irradiation system

In beam monitoring for detecting annihilation radiations produced by radiation irradiation in radiation therapy for cancer which is performed by irradiating the affected area by X-rays, gamma rays, or particle beams, a detector-shift type combined radiation therapy/PET apparatus is provided with an open PET device that includes a plurality of shiftable multi-ring detector rings; and a radiation irradiation device that is capable of irradiation with a radiation beam through between the detector rings. The apparatus changes the positions of the detector rings, performs irradiation with the radiation beam through between the detector rings, and then performs radiation measurement.

Detector-shift type combined radiation therapy/PET apparatus

Provided is a particle beam irradiation apparatus capable of highly reliable measurement of a dose of each beam and capable of highly sensitive measurement of a leakage dose caused by momentary beam emission. The particle beam irradiation apparatus according to the present invention includes: an emission control portion that controls emission and termination of a particle beam; a control portion that sequentially changes an irradiation position of the particle beam relative to an affected area; first and second dosimeters that measure dose rates of the particle beam directed to the affected area; and an abnormality determination portion that accumulates the dose rates output from the first and second dosimeters for each of predetermined determination periods to calculate first and second sectional dose measurement values and that performs second abnormality determination of determining that there is an abnormality and outputs an interlock signal for terminating the emission of the particle beam in at least one of a case in which the first sectional dose measurement value exceeds a predetermined first reference range and a case in which the second sectional dose measurement value exceeds a predetermined second reference range.

Particle beam irradiation apparatus and control method of the particle beam irradiation apparatus

A particle beam irradiation apparatus that can measure and display a dose two-dimensional distribution during scan while reducing degradation of a particle beam shape, including a particle beam generation portion; a particle beam emission control portion; a two-dimensional beam scanning portion; a sensor portion including first linear electrodes arranged in parallel in a first direction and second linear electrodes arranged in parallel in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; a beam shape calculation portion that calculates a center of gravity of the particle beam from outputs of each the first linear and second linear electrodes and that obtains a two-dimensional beam shape of the particle beam around the center of gravity; a storage portion that accumulates and stores the two-dimensional beam shapes; and a display portion that displays the two-dimensional beam shapes as a two-dimensional distribution of a dose.

A combined radiation therapy/PET apparatus includes: an open PET device having multi-ring detector rings that are opposed to each other in the direction of the body axis so as to leave a gap therebetween; and a radiation therapy apparatus for performing radiation therapy through the gap. When imaging the condition of an affected area and a treatment beam for monitoring in radiation therapy of irradiating the affected area with X-rays, gamma rays, or particle beams, the apparatus covers a region of interest in the irradiation field of the radiation therapy with the field-of-view of the open PET device, thereby making possible the positioning of the irradiation field and treatment monitoring using PET images.
