An apparatus for regenerating a spent photograhic bleach-fixer solution, comprising (a) an electrodialysis cell including a cathode, an anode and alternating anion exchange membranes and cation exchange membranes arranged therebetween to define a cathode compartment, a plurality of alternating intermediate enionation and deionation compartments and an anode compartment, (b) an electrolysis cell connected to the enionation compartments of the electrodialysis cell so that an aqueous solution capable of dissolving silver salts can be circulated between the electrolysis cell and the enionation compartments, (c) a circulating tank for the spent bleach-fixer solution connected to the deionation compartments and the anode compartment of the electrodialysis cell for circulating the spent bleach-fixer solution between the circulating tank and both the deionation compartments and the anode compartment, and (d) a circulating tank for an electrolyte solution connected to the cathode compartment of the electrodialysis cell for circulating the electrolyte solution between the circulating tank and the cathode compartment; and a method for regenerating a spent photographic bleach-fixer solution using aforesaid apparatus.

Method and apparatus for regenerating spent photographic bleach-fixer

A method for regenerating a spent developer used for processing silver halide photographic materials which comprises electrolyzing the spent developer using an electrolytic cell including an ion exchange membrane and composed of a cathode compartment and an anode compartment with the anode and the cathode being separated from each other by an anion exchange membrane, while charging the spent developer into the cathode compartment and an electrolytic solution into the anode compartment.

Method for storing developers

A method for regenerating a spent bleach-fixer solution by electrodialysis using an electrodialysis cell comprising a cathode, an anode and alternating anion exchange membranes and cation exchange membranes arranged therebetween to define a cathode compartment, a plurality of intermediate enionation and deionation compartments with a set of the deionation compartments alternately disposed between a set of the enionation compartments, and an anode compartment; said method comprising filling an electrolyte solution in the cathode compartment, the enionation compartments and anode compartment, and the spent bleach-fixer solution in the deionation compartments, and passing a direct electric current across the cathode and the anode; and an apparatus for use in the aforesaid method.

A method for regenerating an oxidized photographic developer, which comprises bringing the oxidized photographic developer into contact with an adsorbent material which has affinity for the oxidation product of the developing agent or its derivatives and is substantially insoluble in the developer, and a method for regenerating an oxidized photographic developer, which comprises subjecting the oxidized developer to a contacting treatment with an adsorbent material which has affinity for the oxidation product of the developing agent or it derivatives and is substantially insoluble in the developer, and to an electrodialysis treatment using ion exchange membranes.
