The lock-up device includes a piston, an output rotary member, a plurality of elastic members, a support member, and a retaining plate. The piston is supported rotatably with respect to the input rotary member and movably in the axial direction. The elastic members elastically link the piston and the output rotary member in the rotational direction. The support member has an outer peripheral support component to support the outer peripheral side of the elastic members. The retaining plate has a fixed component that is fixed to the piston, and a radial support component that supports the outer peripheral support component in the radial direction.

Lock-up device

There is provided a lock-up damper that affords greater design latitude. A lock-up dampercomprises a pair of input rotorsthat rotate integrally, an intermediate plate, a turbine hub, an output rotor, a plurality of first springs, and a plurality of second springs. The turbine hubis disposed so as to be capable of rotating within a specific angle range with respect to the intermediate plate, and is able to come into contact in the rotational direction with the intermediate plate. A pair of the output rotorsare disposed to the inside in the radial direction of the pair of input rotors, and are fixed to the turbine hub

Lock-up damper

A lock-up mechanism,of a torque converter,has a piston,with a lock-up damper,. The lock-up damper,includes a drive member and a hub flange,with the elastic members or torsion springs,operatively coupled therebetween to dampen vibrations in the torque converter,. The drive member and the hub flange,both have a plurality of window holes,and,that are arranged circumferentially for receiving the corresponding torsion springs,. The drive member includes a clutch plate,and a retaining plate,. The clutch plate,of the drive member has a plurality of holes or cutouts,arranged radially outward of the window holes,. These holes or cutouts,are arranged to reduce the weight of the clutch plate,, while maintaining the stresses around the window holes,of the clutch plate,within an allowable stress range. The retaining plate,of the drive member also has a plurality of holes or cutouts,that are arranged radially outward of the window holes,. These holes or cutouts,are arranged to reduce the weight of a retaining plate,, while maintaining the stresses around the window holes,of the retaining plate,within an allowable stress range. The hub flange,of the lock-up damper,also include a plurality of holes or cutouts,that are circumferentially arranged between the window holes,in the hub flange,. These holes or cutouts,are arranged to reduce the weight of a hub flange,, while maintaining the stresses around the window holes,of the hub flange,within an allowable stress range.

Lock-up damper of torque converter

A lock-up clutch mechanism (,) includes a piston member (,), a drive member (,), a driven member (,), and a torsion spring (,). A thickness of one of the plate elements having a longer draw depth is smaller than a thickness of the other of the plate elements having a shorter draw depth.

Lock-up clutch mechanism of torque converter

A stator 6 includes an annular inner shell 11, an annular outer shell 12 and blades 13. The outer shell 12 is arranged radially outside the inner shell 11. The blades 13 are formed between the inner shell 11 and the outer shell 12, and are arranged at a plurality of circumferentially aligned positions, respectively. Each blade 13 extends from the inner shell 11 to the outer shell 12 and thereby couples the outer peripheral portion of the inner shell 11 and the inner peripheral portion of the outer shell 12 together. A rate of change in cross sectional area of the blade changes at a position located radially outside the inner shell 11 at a distance in a range from 1/6 to 1/2 of a distance (r2-r1) between the outer peripheral portion of the inner shell 11 and the inner peripheral portion of the outer shell 12.
