The present television fine tuning is so constructed that an initial rotation establishes the fine tuning state and that a continued rotation of the fine tuning shaft performs the fine tuning. For this purpose the present tuner comprises a fine tuning driving member, a rotation transmitting idler member, a plate spring for supporting the idler member and a fine tuning driven member. The driving member includes a fine tuning shaft, a slide gear and a slip clutch mounted in front of a chassis concentrically around a channel selector shaft supported in the chassis. The spring member has freely slidable end portions disposed between the chassis and the slide gear for biasing the slide gear in the forward direction. The idler member is movably arranged on the spring member for transmitting the fine tuning movement. The slide gear has a gear back of a flange and a driven cam surface in the front of the flange and is operatively mounted around the slip clutch. The fine tuning shaft has a driving cam cooperating with the driven cam surface of the slide gear. A change in the shape of the plate spring shifts the idler member axially in response to initial rotation of the fine tuning shaft.

Pre-setting fine tuning device for a turret type television tuner

A turret type television tuner comprises a chassis subassembly including a chassis base, an electrical wiring sub-assembly fixed on the chassis base, and a rotor assembly including a turret secured to a selector shaft within the chassis base. The turret includes an insulating elastic support disc with integrally formed holes and tongues in divided radial sector portions of the perimeter, a rigid support disc with outwardly opened notches, elongated insulating coil units provided with cavities at one end portion thereof and intermediate grooves, and fine tuning screws located within the respective cavity for adjusting the inductance of the respective coil unit. Each tongue of the elastic support retains the respective screw to hold its position within the respective cavity. Each of the coil units is removably mounted around the two discs by inserting the slim end portion into respective holes in the divided radial sector portions of the elastic support disc, bending the respective radial sector portion forward in the axial direction, and engaging the grooved intermediate portion with a respective notch in the rigid support disc. Once a coil unit is set in a given position it is held in the given position due to the restoring force of the respective bent portion of the elastic support disc.

The present fine tuning device comprises a fine tuning shaft mounted concentrically around a main channel selecting shaft supported in a chassis base. A plate spring member is disposed on the chassis for thrust biasing the fine tuning shaft. A gear member is arranged for transmitting the fine tuning movement from the fine tuning shaft to a fine tuning screw. The fine tuning shaft is provided with a radially extending flange and a peripheral gear, and the transmitting gear member is provided with a first gear engageable with the peripheral gear of the fine tuning shaft and a second gear engageable with the fine tuning screw. The plate spring member supports the rotating transmitting gear member whereby the axial direction of movement may be changed or shifted by deformation of the plate spring member. In this arrangement, when the fine tuning shaft is pushed to change the shape of the plate spring member, the first gear of the transmitting gear member is securely engaged with the peripheral gear of the fine tuning shaft. At the same time, the second gear of the transmitting gear member is engaged with a pinion gear of the fine tuning screw so as to permit a memory fine tuning for one of the tuning coil units selected by the main channel selecting shaft.

Push pre-setting fine tuning device for turret type television tuners

In a pivotally mounted member of the memory fine tuning arrangement for a turret type television tuner, a pivotally moved lever plate provided integrally with a pivotal shaft having head portion, neck portion and body portion, is pivotally mounted on a front wall chassis base by setting the neck portion of the pivotal shaft into a notch of the front wall, wherein assembly of the lever plate to the front wall chassis base can be achieved by the two steps of inserting the head and neck portions of the pivotal shaft into a large opening portion of the notch in the front wall and slidingly setting the neck portion in a small opening portion from the large opening portion through continuous opening portion of the notch. To ensure easy and accurate assembly, a vertical support for the pivotal shaft on the front wall is affixed to the pivotally mounted member so that the parallel relation between the front wall and the lever plate is maintained.
