A rotating device comprises: a hub on which a magnetic recording disk is to be mounted; a base configured to rotatably support the hub via a bearing; a shaft configured such that it extends along the rotational axis of the hub; and a chassis arranged such that it faces the magnetic recording disk, and configured to have a Young's modulus that is smaller than that of the base. A base hole is provided to the upper face of the chassis that faces the magnetic recording disk such that it extends along the rotational axis. Furthermore, the base is fitted into the base hole, thereby fixedly mounting the base on the chassis.

A rotating device includes a shaft body that includes a lower rod and an upper rod formed with a retainer hole encircling a part of the lower rod and fixing the lower rod, a bearing body including a shaft encircling member that encircles the shaft body, and freely rotatable relative to the shaft body, a radial dynamic pressure generating groove which is provided in either one of the shaft body and the bearing body and which generates dynamic pressure in a radial direction, a thrust dynamic pressure generating groove which is provided in either one of the shaft body and the bearing body and which generates dynamic pressure in a thrust direction, and a lubrication medium present in a gap between the shaft body and the bearing body.

Rotating device and manufacturing method thereof

A disk drive device comprises a rotor on which a recording disk is to be mounted and a fixed body rotatably supporting the rotor through a bearing unit. The rotor includes a projecting portion configured to fit into a central hole of the recording disk, a clamper configured to be fixed to the projecting portion, and a seating portion provided radially outward of the projecting portion. The projecting portion and the seating portion are configured such that the seating portion moves with respect to the projecting portion by fixing the clamper to the projecting portion with the recording disk being in between the clamper and the seating portion.

Disk drive device

A rotating device includes a shaft body having a shaft, a first flange extending in the radial direction from the side face of the shaft, and a second flange extending outwardly of the radial direction from another end side, a freely rotatable bearing body including a shaft encircling member present between the second flange and the first flange in the axial direction, a radial dynamic pressure generating groove provided in either one of the shaft and the shaft encircling member, a first thrust dynamic pressure generating groove provided in either one of the first flange and the shaft encircling member, and a lubrication medium. An end of the region where the radial dynamic pressure generating groove is formed and which is distant from the second flange is located outwardly of the region where the first thrust dynamic pressure generating groove is disposed in the axial direction.

Rotating device

A rotating device includes a sleeve which encircles a shaft, a housing which supports the shaft and which forms an annular supporting recess where the lower end of the sleeve enters together with the shaft, a ring member which is provided above the sleeve and which is fixed to the shaft in a manner encircling the shaft. A first gap between the sleeve and the shaft includes first and second radial dynamic pressure generating portions. An annular sleeve recess is formed in upper face of the sleeve. The ring member includes a ring entering portion that enters the sleeve recess in a non-contact manner. An outward gap in the radial direction where the ring entering portion and the sleeve recess face with each other in the radial direction includes a second air-liquid interface of a lubricant.

The rotating device includes a fixing body having a shaft and a shaft holder fixing the shaft, a rotating body having a shaft encircling member with a cylinder part encircling a shaft and a disk part, and a middle encircling member encircling the cylinder part and facing the disk part via a clearance in the direction of a rotational axis, a radial dynamic pressure generating groove disposed in either one of a surface of the cylinder part and a surface of the shaft facing with each other in the radial direction, a thrust dynamic pressure generating groove disposed in either one of a surface of the disk part and a surface of the shaft holder facing with each other in the rotational axis direction, and a lubricant continuously present from a first air-liquid interface to a second air-liquid interface between the rotating body and the fixing body.

A bearing unit for a disk drive device is formed by a sleeve concave portion and a shaft concave portion, and is provided with a capillary seal portion in which the gap between the sleeve concave portion and the shaft concave portion is increased in diameter toward the hub side of the sleeve. Assuming that: the outer circumferential diameter at the tilt starting end on the base member side of the shaft concave portion is D; the inner circumferential diameter at the tilt starting end on the hub side of the sleeve concave portion is D; the facing outer circumferential diameter of the shaft concave portion, which faces, in the radial direction, the inner circumference at the tilt starting end of the sleeve concave portion, is D; and the diameter of the most concave inner circumference of the sleeve concave portion is D, Dis smaller than D, Dis larger than D, and the difference between Dand Dis larger than that between Dand D

Disk drive device provided with fluid dynamic bearing unit
