A camera of the type in which a taking lens is orientable relative to the camera body comprises a lens holder, a light-impervious member connecting the lens holder and camera body for allowing at least an axial movement of the taking lens, and a supporting member attached to the lens holder for detachably connecting a flash unit.

A display device for a camera has a display panel with a digital display unit having seven display segments disposed in a figure-eight shape. The digital display unit displays the number of exposed frames or other exposure information, and in addition, a portion of display segments is utilized for display or for indicating an alarm condition of the camera. In order to clearly recognize the display or alarm of the camera conditions, a character or symbol representative of the display content or alarm content is disposed near a display segment used for both numerical display, and camera condition display or alarm. A display of the film winding state is performed by flashing the laterally elongated display segments positioned between patterns formed sideways of the digital display unit and symbolizing a film supply section and a film winding section.

Display device for cameras

A camera having a provision for multiple exposures comprises an exposure mode setting member for selectively setting the camera operation either to an ordinary-exposure mode or to a multiple-exposure mode, a switch member which is rendered operative only when the exposure mode setting member selects the multiple-exposure mode and a one-frame film advance mechanism actuated by the operation of the switch member. This camera further comprises a data recording device for recording data such as the date on a film once every frame and a mark recording device for recording the same number of marks as there have been multiple exposures upon every exposure.

A film wind-up apparatus is incorporated in an interchangeable film magazine adapted to receive a film which has a backing paper including a leading end portion. The winding device automatically winds up the leading end portion only after the magazine is attached to a camera having a winding motor, film is loaded in the film magazine, the back cover of the magazine is closed, and a light-shielding plate is removed. Upon completion of the winding operation, a photosensitive portion of the film faces the exposure aperture, and a camera so equipped is ready to make exposures.

Film wind-up apparatus

A film wind-up control apparatus of a camera in which a film is transported in zigzag direction passing around at least a guide roller located before an exposure station, is adapted to advance the film a predetermined length of the film when an exposure is made in a predetermined period of time and an extra length in addition to the predetermined length after the predetermined period of time has elapsed, so as to advance that part of the film which was previously positioned around the guide roller, beyond the exposure station. The apparatus is also adapted to indicate the number of possible exposures with one decrement every other occurrence of the extra length of film advance. In this way, film that has become permanently curled around the guide roller never comes to rest in the exposure station; but at the same time, the count of remaining frames is kept accurate.

A reflex camera having a reflex mirror and a light-blocking plate which are pivotally mounted for swinging movement so as to move between a viewing position and a photographing position. The reflex camera has a driving mechanism including an electric motor for causing the swing-up and -down movement of the reflex mirror and the light-blocking plate between the above-mentioned two positions, and a position-detecting device to detect the moved positions of the reflex mirror and the light blocking plate so as to control the speed of rotation of the electric motor according to the detected positions, thereby to prevent shocks and vibrations on the reflex mirror and the light-blocking plate.

A mode change-over device for a mode change-over device for a pre-winding type camera in which, after a loading of a film patrone in the camera and before the shooting, a pre-winding of the film is conducted to fully pre-wind the film on a spool and, when the pre-winding is finished, a mode retaining member is unlocked so as to release a mode change-over member thereby operating a mode change-over switch for a shooting mode, such as to allow an unwinding of the film in a frame-by-frame fashion for each shooting exposure, while the mode change-over member is charged by an opening of a back lid of the camera, the mode change-over device comprising; a counter adapted to operate in response to winding and rewinding of the camera; a retaining member for locking the mode retaining member when the back lid has been opened erroneously or accidentally; and a counter engaging member which prevents the retaining member from locking the mode change-over member when the counter is in the initial position, whereas, when the counter is in the counting position, operates the retaining member for making the retaining member lock the mode change-over member.

An exposure aperture frame defining an exposure aperture includes at least a pivotable partition member with an inclined guide surface on the inner wall thereof which is pivoted by and thereby permits advancement of a film leader to a film take-up chamber so that the film leader can reach a film take-up chamber without any standstill within the exposure aperture frame. The inclined guide surface permits the forward end of the film leader to ride across the partition member. A spring urges the partition member toward a position in which it encloses the exposure aperture frame. That spring also releasably retains the partition member on a shaft on which it is pivoted. The partition member has a platform member extending toward the take-up chamber, which has an opening therethrough that provides access to the spring.

In a camera of the type having a film supply chamber opening at the bottom of the camera into which a container including a coiled strip film with its leader previously drawn out is inserted for film loading, a film supporting apparatus for holding the loaded film flat in film plane comprises a pressure plate and a holding frame for resiliently holding the pressure plate in cantilever fashion. The pressure plate can be displaced in the direction parallel to optical axis of the camera for assured advancement of the film to a film take-up chamber.

An automatic rewinding camera wherein an automatic advance of the photographic film by one frame is caused by shutter release operation and rewinding of the photographic film is automatically started when the film is prevented from further advance. The camera has a film-driven sprocket wheel, by the rotation of which film movement signals are produced. A timer circuit maintains, during the passage of a predetermined active time which is shorter than the time required to advance the photographic film by one frame, the camera motor in forward rotation so as to advance the photographic film. The timer circuit is reset by the film movement signals. But when those film signals stop, that is, when the film is fully extended from the cartridge, then the timer is not reset; and the measurement of the full predetermined active time, by the timer, without resetting, results in the motor being reversed to rewind the film.

Automatic rewinding camera

In a collapsible mount type camera, a transmission pin provided in a lens barrel is movable back and forth as a distance ring or aperture size control ring is rotated. The rear end of the transmission pin is projected rearward out of the lens barrel. The rear end of the pin is integrally fixed to a radially extending lever which extends beyond the periphery of the lens barrel. On the outer end of the radially extending lever abuts a rear end of an intermediate lever pivotally mounted in a camera body. When the lens barrel is retracted into the camera body, the lens barrel with the transmission pin is not obstructed by the intermediate lever.

Means for transmitting information from lens barrel to camera body

In a camera body there are provided a light source, information carrying discs illuminated by the light source, and a half-mirror for dividing the light from the information carrying discs into a light beam directed to the viewfinder and a light beam directed to the film. In the optical path of the light beam directed to the film is provided a light shielding shutter blade to prevent the light from reaching the film when the information is not desired to be recorded on the film. The information carying discs are rotatably mounted in the camera body and carry various characters to be recorded on the film. The information carrying discs are manually operable from outside of the camera body by manually operable dials. The dials are protected from being accidentally moved by a cover. A switch operating pin is operated by the cover so that the light source is turned on when the cover is opened and the light source is momentarily turned on to record the information on the film upon release of the shutter mechanism in the camera when the cover is closed.
