An optical device according to an embodiment includes a lens mirror array and a holder. The lens mirror array is opposed to a light emitting section. The lens mirror array includes a plurality of optical elements. The optical elements include incident-side lens surfaces, emission-side lens surfaces that emit incident light, and reflection surfaces that reflect incident light. A cross section orthogonal to a first direction of the lens mirror array has a constricted shape. The holder includes a slit having width smaller than width of both the ends in the cross section of the lens mirror array and larger than width of the center in the cross section and extending in the first direction. The holder holds the lens mirror array in a state in which a constricted portion in the center in the cross section of the lens mirror array is disposed in the slit.

Optical device

An image forming apparatus equipped with an exposure device including a plurality of light emitting points, includes a photoconductor and a processor. The processor controls the light emission of each of the plurality of light emitting points of the exposure device based on the image to be formed. The processor calculates a fourth correction coefficient by changing a third correction coefficient, which is calculated based on a first correction coefficient for correcting a first physical quantity related to the exposure condition of the photoconductor by the light emitting point, and a second correction coefficient for correcting a second physical quantity related to the exposure condition of the photoconductor by the light emitting point, based on the light emission time set according to the gradation of the image to be formed, and corrects the light output of each of the plurality of light emitting points by the fourth correction coefficient.

Image forming apparatus

A symbol reading device includes a plurality of reading units and a processor. The reading units read symbols on articles conveyed along a conveyance path. The processor is configured to acquire symbol information from a plurality of articles and store the symbol information in association with each of the reading units that read the symbols on respective articles, then identify a reading unit that can be substituted by another reading unit based on the symbol information associated with the reading units. The identified reading unit in then placed into a power saving state.

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor, light emitting elements, a developing device, a fixing device, and a controller. The photoconductor is charged. The light emitting elements form light spots on the photoconductor in order to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductor, and are provided to have a first distance with each other in a main scanning direction. The developing device develops an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductor to a toner image. The fixing device fixes the toner image to a sheet. The controller causes the light emitting elements to form first light spots on the photoconductor, causes the photoconductor to move toward the light emitting elements by a second distance shorter than the first distance in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction, and causes the light emitting elements to form second light spots on the photoconductor.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a light emitting element array, a photosensitive member, a transparent member, a gap spacer, and a biasing member. The light emitting element array includes a plurality of light emitting elements. The photosensitive member forms a latent image by being exposed by light emitted from the light emitting element array. The transparent member is positioned between the photosensitive member and the light emitting element array. The transparent member has a relative position fixed with respect to the light emitting element array, and transmits the light emitted from the light emitting element array. The gap spacer keeps a distance between the photosensitive member and the transparent member constant. The biasing member biases the transparent member toward the photosensitive member.

An image forming apparatus includes a print head, a detector, and a controller. The print head includes one or more light emitting element arrays, each light emitting element array includes a plurality of light emitting elements. The detector is configured to detect an emission time of the print head that emits light according to image data. The controller is configured to control a time interval to a print start corresponding to second image data, the second image data following first image data, based on a detection result of an emission time corresponding to the first image data.

In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises a light emitting element array comprising a low temperature polysilicon transistor and a plurality of light emitting elements that emit light at luminance corresponding to an output current of the transistor; and a processor configured to select either one of a first mode in which the light emitting element emits light for a first irradiation time at a first light quantity per unit area and a second mode in which the light emitting element emits light for a second irradiation time longer than the first irradiation time at a second light quantity less than the first light quantity per unit area, and control emission of light from the plurality of light emitting elements to expose a photoconductor according to acquired image data and a selected mode.

An image forming system comprises a sheet supply section configured to supply a sheet for printing. The system includes a registration roller configured to guide the sheet supplied from the sheet supply section along a conveyance path. A first image forming section is configured to form a first image on the sheet based on reference image information using a first colorant type that is capable of being fixed to the sheet by heat. A fixing section is configured to heat the sheet on which the first image has been formed. A second image forming section is configured to receive the sheet from the fixing section and form a second image using a second colorant type on the sheet after the sheet has been passed through the fixing section. A controller is configured to control a heating temperature of the fixing section in two or more stages.

An image forming apparatus includes an acquisition interface, a developer, and a transferring and fixing device. The acquisition interface acquires image data. The developer supplies toner to an image carrier to form any one of a toner image according to the image data and a toner image of a certain shape pre-determined regardless of the image data. The transferring and fixing device forms an image represented by the image data on an image forming target medium by irradiating a surface of the medium having another surface adjacent to the toner image with light having at least a certain value of a transmittance with respect to the medium to transfer and simultaneously fix some or all of the toner image on the other surface of the medium by the light that is transmitted through the surface of the medium. The toner is melted by the light.
