A bicycle derailleur comprises a base member adapted to be mounted to a bicycle; a movable member movably coupled to the base member; a chain guide coupled to the movable member through a pivot shaft for rotating around an axis (X); a spring mounted around the axis (X), wherein the spring is configured to bias the chain guide in a selected rotational direction; and a resistance applying unit disposed on the pivot shaft. The resistance applying unit includes a friction unit, a one-way transmission unit, and an adjusting unit. The friction unit includes a plurality of first engaging members and at least one second engaging member, wherein the plurality of first engaging members are axially slidable with respect to the pivot shaft. The adjusting unit adjusts an amount of friction between the plurality of first engaging members and the at least one second engaging member.

Bicycle rear derailleur with a motion resisting structure

A bicycle derailleur comprises a base member adapted to be mounted to a bicycle; a movable member movably coupled to the base member; a chain guide coupled to the movable member through a pivot shaft, wherein the chain guide is coupled for rotation around a rotational axis (X); a biasing element that biases the chain guide in a selected rotational direction around the rotational axis (X); and a resistance applying unit that applies a resistance to rotational movement of the chain guide in a direction opposite the selected rotational direction. The resistance applying unit includes a roller clutch disposed between the movable member and the pivot shaft, wherein the roller clutch includes a roller; an intermediate member disposed between the roller and the pivot shaft, wherein the intermediate member moves relative to the pivot shaft; and a first friction member including a first contact area that is substantially perpendicular to the rotational axis (X), wherein the first friction member communicates rotational force between the pivot shaft and the intermediate member.

A bicycle derailleur comprises a base member adapted to be mounted to a bicycle, a movable member movably coupled to the base member, and a chain guide coupled to the movable member. The chain guide is coupled for rotation around a rotational axis (X), and a biasing element biases the chain guide in a selected rotational direction. A resistance applying unit applies a resistance to rotational movement of the chain guide in a direction opposite the selected rotational direction, and an adjusting unit adjusts an amount of resistance applied by the resistance applying unit.

A bicycle brake assembly includes a brake unit, a fixing structure and an alignment structure. The brake unit includes first and second brake arms. The fixing structure is configured to operatively couple the brake unit to a brake supporting portion of a bicycle frame. The alignment structure is disposed in the vicinity of the fixing structure. The alignment structure is configured to align the brake unit to the brake supporting portion.

A bicycle control apparatus is configured to control a bicycle having a transmission and a drive assistance electric motor that drives a wheel. The bicycle control apparatus includes a pedaling force detector and a controller. The pedaling force detector detects a pedaling force. The controller includes a control section that controls the drive assistance electric motor according to a pedaling force detected by the pedaling force detector. The control section increases a ratio of an output of the drive assistance electric motor with respect to the pedaling force upon completion of a downshift of the transmission, and subsequently decreasing the ratio of the output of the drive assistance electric motor with respect to the pedaling force.

A bicycle derailleur apparatus comprises a base member for coupling to a bicycle frame, a movable member coupled for movement relative to the base member, a chain guide coupled to the movable member for moving a chain from an origin sprocket to a destination sprocket in response to movement of the movable member, a biasing device that provides a biasing force to the chain guide for tensioning the chain, and a movement resisting device with a control element for the application of a signal that causes the movement resisting device to selectively apply and remove resistance to movement of the chain guide. The movement resisting device is operable to remove resistance to movement of the chain guide when the chain guide moves the chain from the origin sprocket to the destination sprocket.

Motion resisting apparatus for a bicycle derailleur

A generator hub is basically provided with a hub shaft, a generator mechanism, a connector and a positioning device. The generator mechanism is provided on the hub shaft. The connector is disposed on the hub shaft and electrically connected to the generator mechanism. The positioning device is disposed on the hub shaft, the positioning device being configured and arranged to position the connector with respect to a frame of a bicycle in a rotational direction about the hub shaft.

A movement resisting device has a control element for the application of a signal that causes the movement resisting device to change resistance to movement of the chain guide.

A cable operating mechanism basically has a fixed member, a wire take-up member, an operating lever and a movement transmission arrangement. The wire takeup member is rotatably mounted with respect to the fixed member in first and second rotational directions with the second rotational direction being opposite the first rotational direction. The operating lever is pivotally mounted in the first rotational direction with respect to the fixed member. The movement transmission arrangement is operatively coupling the operating lever to the wire takeup member to transmit pivotal movement of the operating lever to rotational movement the wire takeup member such that the wire takeup member has a greater amount of angular displacement than an angular displacement of the operating lever in response to pivotal movement of the operating lever in the first rotational direction.

Cable operating mechanism

A bicycle rear derailleur is provided with a base member, a movable member, a moving mechanism and an angular adjustment arrangement. The base member includes a first support portion and a first axle with the first support portion being pivotally mounted on the first axle. The movable member includes a second support portion, a chain guide and a second axle with the chain guide being pivotally mounted on the second support portion by the second axle. The moving mechanism is coupled between the first and second support portions. The angular adjustment arrangement is operatively coupled to either electrically pivot the first support portion relative to the first axle, or electrically pivot the chain guide relative to the second support portion when the moving mechanism is moved to move the second support portion of the movable member relative to the first support portion of the base member.

A bicycle derailler is basically provided with a base member, a movable member, a coupling member and a cable actuation ratio control mechanism. The movable member supports a chain guide. The coupling member movably couples the movable member to the base member. The cable actuation ratio control mechanism includes first and second link members. The first link member has a pivoting portion, a cable connection portion and a second link coupling portion. The pivoting portion is pivotally mounted to one of the coupling member and the base member. The cable connection portion is located on one side of the pivoting portion, while the second link coupling portion is located on the other side of the pivoting portion. The second link member is coupled to the first link member at the second link coupling portion and pivotally mounted to one of the movable member and the coupling member.

A bicycle component positioning device is basically provided with a fixed structure, an input member and a positioning member. The input member is movably coupled relative to the fixed structure. The input member has a first moving direction and a second moving direction. The positioning member is operatively coupled to the input mechanism to selectively move between a plurality of predetermined positions. A bicycle derailleur includes a mounting member, at least one linkage member, a movable chain guide and a chain guide tensioning mechanism. The mounting member is configured to be attached to a bicycle frame. The linkage member is supported to the mounting member. The movable member is movably coupled to the mounting member via the linkage member. The chain guide is pivotally connected to the movable member to pivot about a pivot axis that extends through the movable member. The chain guide also supports a guide pulley and a tension pulley. The chain guide tensioning mechanism is supported to the movable member at a point spaced apart from the pivot axis configured to bias the chain guide in a direction about the pivot axis.

A bicycle wheel securing structure includes a shaft member, a head member, a first wheel securing device, a second wheel securing device, a first lever member and a second lever member. The shaft member has first and second end portions and a longitudinal center axis. The head member is coupled at the second end portion. The first wheel securing device is positioned at the second end portion. The second wheel securing device positioned at least one of the first and second end portions. The first lever member is operatively connected to the first wheel securing device to move the first wheel securing device in response to movement of the first lever member.
