A pair of fixed arc electrodes are arranged facing each other within a sealed container that is filled with arc-extinguishing gas. There are provided: a compression puffer chamber for accumulating pressurized gas that is obtained by elevating the pressure of the arc-extinguishing gas; and an insulated nozzle that directs the pressurized gas towards the arc discharge from the compression puffer chamber. A buffer chamber is provided, in which hot exhaust gas generated by the heat of the arc discharge is temporarily accumulated. A pressurized gas through-flow space is provided, communicating with the compression puffer chamber. In the pressurized gas through-flow space, an opening/closing section prevents inflow of hot exhaust gas by assuming a closed condition during the earlier half of the current interruption period, and in the latter half of the current interruption period the opening/closing sectionis opened to allow flow of pressurized gas.

Gas circuit breaker

In a gas circuit breaker according to an embodiment, a container is filled with an arc extinguishing gas. A movable part housed in the container and includes a movable arc contact. The movable part is provided with an accumulation part for increasing pressure of the arc extinguishing gas. A counter part is housed in the container and includes a counter arc contact, an exhaust pipe, and a shield. The shield is disposed in the exhaust pipe in a state that a flow of the arc extinguishing gas inside the exhaust pipe is allowed. A nozzle is housed in the container and provided with a space. An arc discharge occurs between the movable arc contact and the counter arc contact in the space. The arc extinguishing gas having an increased pressure in the accumulation part flows into the space to extinguish the arc discharge and flows into the exhaust pipe. The shield has a first shield wall crossing the axial direction of the exhaust pipe.

A gas-insulated circuit breaker has a sealed container filled with gas; a pair of contacts so constructed as to be connected and separated each other in the sealed container; gas flow generation means for blasting the gas on an arc generated when the contacts are separated, the gas flow generation means including: an accumulation space, pressure increasing means for increasing the pressure of the pressure accumulation space, a gas passage connecting the pressure accumulation space to the arc, and an insulating nozzle that controls the flow of the gas from the pressure accumulation space to the arc; an inside-nozzle insulating member disposed co-axially with the insulating nozzle. The arc is generated in a space between an inner wall section of the insulating nozzle and an outer wall section of the inside-nozzle insulating member, and the gas flows in the space.

Gas-insulated circuit breaker

In a flat display apparatus of this invention, which uses a discharge plasma, a UV discharge gas prepared by mixing Xe as a main discharge gas and Ne as a discharge control gas such that the partial pressure of Xe becomes, e.g., 15% is injected into a space between a display substrate and a counter substrate opposing the display substrate at a predetermined pressure. A plurality of first electrodes capable of specifying a position in the first direction on the substrate, a plurality of second electrodes capable of specifying a position in the second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and third electrodes (auxiliary electrodes) equal in number to the first or second electrodes are formed on at least one substrate at a predetermined interval. With this arrangement, the discharge start voltage required for initialization of the discharge generation portion (pixels between the substrates), a write in a memory, and discharge sustaining and memory erase operations can be set to be low.
