A saddle-ride type vehicle for enabling the placement of canisters with a required absorption-chamber capacity in a compact manner. The saddle-ride type vehicle includes a head pipe supporting a steering shaft connecting with a handlebar; a vehicle-body frame connecting with the head pipe; a fuel tank placed to the rear of the head pipe and supported on an upper portion of the vehicle-body frame; and a pair of canisters for absorbing evaporated fuel introduced from the fuel tank. The canisters are vertically placed under one side portion of the fuel tank in a position along the vehicle-longitudinal direction.

Saddle-ridden type vehicle

A fuel supply device for a motorcycle having a fuel pump disposed on the outside of a fuel tank for saving with respect to an installation space and for making a fuel pipe connecting the fuel tank and the fuel pump shorter. A fuel supply device for a motorcycle includes a single main frame extending rearwardly from a head pipe; a fuel tank supported on the main frame; an internal combustion engine; a fuel injection device attached to the internal combustion engine; and a fuel supply portion having a fuel pump by which the fuel is supplied to the fuel injection device via a fuel pipe. The fuel pump is provided on the outside of the fuel tank and attached to the main frame in such a manner that an axial line in a direction in which to connect the fuel pipe is aligned along the main frame.

Fuel supply device of motorcycle

In a fuel cap provided with a breather mechanism, a cap openably and closably covers a fuel filler of a fuel tank. The cap includes a breather passage for communication between the inside and the outside of the fuel tank. The breather passage is provided with a breather valve mechanism and a resonator chamber as a silencing mechanism. The breather mechanism is a valve having a spring capable of retaining a pressure within the fuel tank up to a predetermined pressure.

To enable the effective supply of fuel in a low remaining fuel condition, even in a saddle-ride vehicle with a requirement for an increased fuel tank capacity being provided within a limited amount of space. The saddle-ride vehicle includes an engine having a cylinder disposed on a crankcase; an intake system component disposed at the rear of the cylinder for sucking air into the engine; and a fuel tank disposed above the engine for storing fuel. The saddle-ride type vehicle includes a fuel suction port in a side bottom plate portion of the fuel tank for feeding fuel to the intake system component. The saddle-ride vehicle has a sub-chamber having a wall that surrounds the fuel suction port and the sub-chamber includes a fuel flow opening toward the vehicle rear.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

In a motorcycle including an engine equipped with an inlet system, a crankcase and a cylinder block; and a fuel tank which supplies fuel to the engine, an evaporation system is formed in a compact manner using the layout space above the crankcase. The evaporation system includes a canister which temporarily traps evaporated fuel evaporated inside the fuel tank; a purge device which introduces the evaporated fuel trapped in the canister into the inlet system; and a fresh air filter which filters air introduced to the canister during a purging operation for making the inlet system suction the evaporated fuel. In such evaporation system, the canister is disposed in the rear of the cylinder block and above the crankcase, and the air filter is disposed between the cylinder block and the canister.

Evaporation system for motorcycle, and motorcycle incorporating the same

An evaporated fuel treatment device is provided to treat evaporated fuel by using a fuel supply cap with a small size while the flowout of fuel can also be suitably prevented. The evaporated fuel treatment device includes a positive pressure adjusting valve which opens when an inner pressure of a fuel tank becomes a predetermined pressure or more, and a spherical rollover valve which closes the positive pressure adjusting valve when the fuel tank is inclined at an angle equal to or larger than a predetermined angle. The positive pressure adjusting valve and the spherical rollover valve are mounted on one cylindrical portion formed on a fuel supply cap.

Evaporated fuel treatment device for vehicle

An evaporative fuel treatment apparatus for a vehicle includes a direct purge channel for supplying evaporative fuel to a purge channel without involving a canister; a purge control valve for controlling communications between the canister and an air-intake system of an internal combustion engine by an opening and closing operation; a direct purge control valve for controlling communications between a fuel tank and the air-intake system by another opening and closing operation; and a two-way valve provided in a charge channel. During a purge mode of the apparatus, evaporative fuel adsorbed in the canister is purged to the air-intake system by closing the direct purge control valve and opening the purge control valve during operation of engine. During a direct purge mode of the apparatus, evaporative fuel in the fuel tank is purged to the air-intake system by closing the purge control valve and opening the direct purge control valve.

Evaporative fuel treatment apparatus for vehicle

A fuel cap includes a communication chamber configured to make a charge path and the inside of the fuel tank communicate with each other while in a closed state. The communication chamber includes: a positive pressure control valve configured to open, and send evaporated fuel, which occurs inside the fuel tank, to an evaporated fuel reservoir via the communication chamber and the charge path when the internal pressure of the fuel tank becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined pressure; and a negative pressure control valve configured to open, and send air from the evaporated fuel reservoir to the fuel tank via the communication chamber and the charge path when the internal pressure of the fuel tank becomes equal to or less than the predetermined pressure. In addition, a key cylinder sets the negative pressure control valve open upon inserting a key into the key cylinder.

Evaporated fuel handling apparatus

An evaporated fuel treatment device for a vehicle is provided to suppress the flowout of evaporated fuel into atmospheric air. In the evaporated fuel treatment device, a communication chamber is formed in a fuel supply cap, allowing communication between a charge passage and the inside of a fuel tank in a closed state. In the communication chamber, a positive pressure adjusting valve is openable to supply evaporated fuel in the fuel tank to an evaporated fuel storage unit through the communication chamber and the charge passage, and a negative pressure adjusting valve is openable to supply atmospheric air to the fuel tank from the evaporated fuel storage unit through the communication chamber and the charge passage. An interlocking member is provided between the key cover and the negative pressure adjusting valve, and opens the negative pressure adjusting valve in an interlocking manner with an operation of opening the key cover.

A canister is provided which efficiently purges in a saddle-riding type vehicle having an engine disposed downwardly of a rider seat so as to develop a drive power for driving a rear wheel, a fuel tank storing fuel to be supplied to the engine, and a canister adsorbing fuel vapors generated in the fuel tank. An air guide path that guides exhaust air discharged rearwardly from a radiator, which circulates coolant with an engine, is formed inside a vehicle body cover. The canister is disposed in the air guide path.

Arrangement of canister in saddle-riding type vehicle

A canister holding structure for mounting an evaporative emissions canister, having a cylindrical body portion, to a vehicle body. A central axis of the cylindrical body portion extends in a direction other than perpendicular to a ground surface. The canister holding structure includes a holding member, including an annular portion which substantially surrounds the cylindrical body portion of the canister, and a fixing portion for attaching to the vehicle body. Positioning structure is provided for positioning the canister in relation to the holding member. The positioning structure is provided to both the annular portion and the canister. In one illustrative embodiment, the positioning structure includes at least one projection provided on a periphery of the cylindrical body portion of the canister, and multiple holes provided in the annular portion of the holding member, where each of the multiple holes is engageable with the projection.
