A configuration of a liquid ejecting head enables a stable, continuous ink supply with the off-carriage method, even if a force operates in the direction of joint needle insertion and removal. To this end, a joint opening that accepts insertion of a joint needle on a printing apparatus side is placed at a position closer to a joint face between an ejecting head and a sub tank unit than a positioning opening that engages with a positioning member on the printing apparatus side. Consequently, even if external force is produced due to coupling, the force exerted on the joint face that is a weak portion of an inkjet head may be minimized.

Liquid ejecting head and liquid ejecting apparatus

The present invention provides a mechanism that improves accuracy for positioning a head relative to a carriage, and easily performs positional adjustment for the head. A carriage unit includes a first carriage structure and a second carriage structure. The first carriage structure includes a first sliding face that can slide along a guide shaft, and a head can be mounted on the first carriage structure. The second carriage structure includes a second sliding face that can slide along the guide shaft, and can hold the first carriage structure to allow positional adjustment for the first carriage structure in a predetermined direction in which a position where the first sliding face contacts the guide shaft is to be shifted.

A holding member provided in a liquid ejection apparatus is attached to a receiving member and includes a capturing portion capturing a supply member so as to hold the supply member. The capturing portion is displaceable while the holding member is attached to the receiving member.

An ink jet apparatus includes a head cartridge; an ink tank having an ink supply portion to be connected to an ink inflow portion of the head cartridge, and a first engagement portion to engage the head cartridge; a carriage on which the head cartridge is detachably mounted; and a tank holding member, which is swingably supported by the carriage to engage a second engagement portion of the ink tank. When the head cartridge and ink tank are mounted on the carriage, the ink tank is pivoted around the first engagement portion by receiving a force exerted against the ink supply portion via the ink inflow portion, and the tank holding member is pushed by the second engagement portion and is moved.

Ink jet printing apparatus

An inkjet recording apparatus includes an ink passage member capable of supplying ink from an ink storage unit to a carriage, a passage connecting member capable of connecting the ink passage member to a recording head, an operating member capable of switching the passage connecting member between a connection state where the ink passage member is connected to the recording head and a disconnection state where the ink passage member is disconnected from the recording head, and an operating-member regulating member regulating the operating member. The operating-member regulating member is capable of switching the operating member between a state where switching to the disconnection state by the operating member is permitted and a state where this switching is prevented.

Inkjet recording apparatus

An ink jet printing apparatus can suppress vibrations to a low level without local concentration of abrasion between a carriage and a guide shaft. The ink jet printing apparatus makes the carriage reciprocate along the guide shaft without ejecting ink, thus achieving a stirring operation in which the ink stored in an ink tank is stirred. At least one of a limited range in one direction, in which the stirring operation is performed, and a portion of the guide shaft that contacts the carriage when viewed from the one direction, is changeable.

A driving apparatus includes an endless belt supported by a drive pulley configured to be driven by a motor and an idler pulley, and a moving member configured to be coupled to the endless belt and moved by driving the drive pulley by the motor, wherein a first limit value of electric power to be supplied to the motor when the moving member is moved in a first direction approaching the drive pulley is set larger than a second limit value of electric power to be supplied to the motor when the moving member is moved in a second direction approaching the idler pulley.

A cap sheet metal (and pivot sheet metal) is configured to be able to move linearly with a cap arm (and an arm stay) via engagement between an engagement hole and a fitting shaft. Furthermore, the cap sheet metal (and the pivot sheet metal) can move pivotally with respect to the cap arm (and the arm stay) using the fitting shaft, which engages with the engagement hole, as a pivotal shaft. Thus, even if, for example, the direction of biasing toward the applying roller deviates or a positional relationship with the applying roller deviates slightly, the liquid holding member moves and pivots in the bias direction depending on the deviation. As a result, the contacting pressure of a contacting portion on the applying roller can be made uniform.

A turning operation of a headset lever is completed, and a printing head can be detached from a carriage part. By the above described turning operation of the head set lever, a supply port insertion and extraction part connected via a link slides, a needle pipe of the supply port insertion and extraction part is brought into a state of being the farthest from the printing head, and a needle insertion and extraction lever is brought into state in which it moves under a case wall. Thereby, an operator cannot turn only the needle insertion and extraction lever when the head set lever is in an opened state. In this manner, when the headset lever is in the opened state, the operation of the needle insertion and extraction lever which is used for connection of the supply port insertion and extraction part to ink supply port is restricted.

Inkjet printing apparatus

An inkjet recording apparatus includes a joint portion movable to a first position at which communication is established between a flexible tube connected to an ink tank and a recording head and a second position at which such communication is interrupted, a manipulating member rotatably provided on a carriage to take a first posture and a second posture with respect to the carriage, and a link mechanism that causes the manipulating member and the joint portion to operate in conjunction with each other such that the joint portion moves to either of the first position and the second position along with rotation of the manipulating member. The manipulating member is urged to be maintained in either of the first posture and the second posture by a restoration force of the tube.

A turning operation of a head set lever is completed, and a printing head can be detached from a carriage part. By the above-described turning operation of the head set lever, a supply port insertion and extraction part connected via a link slides, a needle pipe of the supply port insertion and extraction part is brought into a state of being the farthest from the printing head, and a needle insertion and extraction lever is brought into a state in which it moves under a case wall. Thereby, an operator cannot turn only the needle insertion and extraction lever when the head set lever is in an opened state. In this manner, when the head set lever is in the opened state, the operation of the needle insertion and extraction lever, which is used for connection of the supply port insertion and extraction part to ink supply port, is restricted.

A recording apparatus which can prevent a drop of a recording head upon attachment of the recording head to a carriage is provided. When a head cartridge is attached/removed to/from a carriage, the carriage is moved to an overlapping position with a head supporting base and stopped there. Projection supporting portions to guide and support rough guide projections on both side surfaces of the head cartridge so as to be properly received to guides provided for the carriage are provided for the head supporting base.

Recording apparatus

An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid applying apparatus that enables the viscosity of a liquid to be applied and the condition of supply of the liquid to be detected using conventional mechanisms and without the need for a viscometer or the like, thus allowing prevention of improper application of the liquid to a medium and mitigation of wear of an applying roller or the like, the apparatus having an inexpensive configuration. Thus, according to the present invention, a driving load on an applying roller driving motor is detected when an applying roller is driven. If the driving load is equal to or more than a preset threshold, an operation of re-supplying the liquid is performed by a pump, or an operation of the roller driving motor is stopped.
