There is provided an apparatus for manufacturing a thin uneven member. The apparatus includes a lower die fixed to a press bed, an upper die fixed to a ram and disposed opposed to the lower die, and a pressure-drive unit which presses the ram using a servo motor as a power source, the servo motor being fixed to a first support member. The pressure-drive unit includes a motion converting mechanism which converts a rotation of the servo motor to a linear motion of a lifting member, and a cylinder block connected and fixed to the first support member and including first and second pistons arranged in series vertically, wherein the first piston is connected to the lifting member through a second support member, and the second piston, larger in diameter than the first piston, presses the ram.

A method of manufacturing laminated core segments including: a process to blank and laminate, wherein the segment core sheets formed in the adjacent virtual lines are aligned so that directions of the segment core sheets alternate, each of the segment core sheets are blanked and formed by a die device, and the laminated core segments are formed by laminating the blanked segment core sheets in the die device; a process to eject, wherein each of the laminated core segments formed by blanking and laminating in each virtual line is ejected from the die device; and a process to identify a blanking position, wherein the distinguishing marks are provided for the laminated core segments to identify the virtual lines therefor.

A slip casting mold includes a water absorption layer having self water absorption capability and substantial water resistance. With the water saturation percentage of the water absorption layer being controlled, a slurry layer is deposited in the slip casting mold mainly under capillary attractive forces of the slip casting mold. The water absorption layer comprises an open porous body which is manufactured by stirring a mixture of an epoxy compound having at least one epoxy ring in one molecule, a hardener for reacting with the epoxy compound to harden the epoxy compound, a filler for developing self water absorption capability and mold releasability, and water into an O/W-type emulsion slurry, and casting the emulsion slurry into a mold impermeable to water, hardening the emulsion slurry in the mold while containing water.

Disclosed is a method of producing a porous material having open pores, comprising the steps of preparing a slurry from a mixture comprising a bisphenol-type epoxy resin, a specific mixture amide compound as a hardener, a filler and water, casting the slurry in a water-impermeable mold, hardening the slurry while it contains the water and dehydrating the hardened body.
