A patch antenna includes: a radiating element having a flat-plate shape; and a parasitic element provided at a position spaced away from the radiating element in planar view in which the radiating element is seen from a direction perpendicular to a plate surface of the radiating element. A longitudinal direction of the parasitic element is oriented along a direction of a line segment connecting a center of the radiating element and a feeding point in the planar view.

A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna device for spatial multiplexing transmission and that includes: a front side dipole antenna arranged on a front side surface; and a rear side dipole antenna arranged on a rear side surface which faces the front side surface. The front side dipole antenna includes a front side bowtie antenna, and the rear side dipole antenna includes a rear side bowtie antenna. An antenna device () includes a substrate () including a first surface (), a first antenna () provided on the substrate (), a second antenna () provided on the substrate (), and a third antenna () provided on the first surface () of the substrate (), and a center point (CP) of the third antenna () is positioned on the same side as an end portion (EP) of the second antenna () furthest from the first antenna (), relative to a center line (CL) passing through a center of a line (L) connecting an end portion (EP) of the first antenna () furthest from the second antenna () and the end portion (EP) of the second antenna () furthest from the first antenna (), or relative to a center line (CL) of the first surface () of the substrate ().

A slotted patch antenna includes a dielectric substrate, a radiation electrode which is provided on a major surface of the dielectric substrate, and a ground conductor which is disposed on a surface that is opposite to the major surface. The radiation electrode is formed with a slots having at least one of a meandering portion, a curve portion, or a folded portion. An external shape of the radiation electrode is a square, and totally two pairs of slots are formed inside the square, each of the slots being along respective sides of the square. Each of the slots is arranged so as to be line-symmetrical with respect to an axis of symmetry that is parallel with one of the sides of the square and passes through a center of the square, and to be point-symmetrical with respect to the center of the square.

An antenna device includes: a pair of first elements that are arranged on a first plane; and a pair of second elements that are arranged on a second plane parallel to the first plane such that a polarized wave direction of the pair of second elements is orthogonal to that of the pair of first elements. Each element of the pair of first elements and the pair of second elements includes a portion that acts as a self-similarity antenna or an antenna that acts based on similar operating principle to the self-similarity antenna. In one embodiment, each element of the pair of first elements and the pair of second elements includes two arms that extend in a direction away from each other from a proximal end portion to which a feed point is connectable.

An antenna device for a vehicle includes: the patch antenna; a housing installed in a predetermined orientation at a predetermined position of the vehicle; and a support supporting the patch antenna such that the patch antenna is used for vertically polarized waves when the housing is installed in the predetermined orientation at the predetermined position.

An antenna device to be mounted on a vehicle, including a ground conductor having a planar shape; and an antenna element which is a resonant type, is provided at a position so as not to overlap with the ground conductor within a plane substantially parallel to the ground conductor, and is configured to transmit or receive a polarized wave parallel to the ground conductor. A rectangular notch is formed in the ground conductor to have both a right and left edge portions with a predetermined width being left, and the antenna element is provided at a position overlapping with the notch in a plane substantially parallel to the ground conductor.

An antenna device has a configuration in which a feeding point is located at a position that is distant from an outer periphery of a ground conductor plate to a center side and that would correspond to polarized waves parallel to the ground conductor plate. The antenna devices includes a ground conductor plate and an antenna element. The antenna element includes a first vertical portion and a second vertical portion which are erected substantially perpendicularly from the ground conductor plate and a first parallel portion, a second parallel portion, and a third parallel portion which extend substantially parallel to the ground conductor plate. An end portion, in the &#x2212;Z direction, of the first vertical portion serves as a feeding point and is located at a position that is distant from an outer periphery of the ground conductor plate to a center side.

A microstrip antenna has two feed points. The microstrip antenna includes a feeder circuit which is configured to feed, to the two feed points, electric signals whose phases are different by 90&#xb0; from each other. The feeder circuit includes a Wilkinson coupler unit and a phase-shift unit each of which is formed as a lumped constant circuit.
