A V8 engine, each bank of which is configured such that four crank pins connected to four piston pins via a connecting rod are positioned at 90&#xb0; intervals when viewed from one end of a crankshaft. The four crank pins on the bank side are offset by 60&#xb0; relative to the four crank pins on the bank side when viewed from the one end.

V8 engine

An outboard motor is provided with an upper separator disposed on the lower side of an oil case for storing a lubricating oil of an engine, and an extension case which is separably connected on the lower side of the upper separator. The upper separator has a central exhaust passage through which exhaust gas flows, and a cooling water flow part through which cooling water flows on the outside of the central exhaust passage, the central exhaust passage and the cooling water flow part forming an integrated structure. The exhaust gas and the cooling water are caused to mix in the extension case.

Outboard motor

An electromagnetic relay includes a fixed contact holder, a moving contact holder, an electromagnetic device, and a magnet. The fixed contact holder extends in a predetermined direction and is provided with a fixed contact. The moving contact holder also extends in the predetermined direction, and is provided with a moving contact. The magnet is arranged perpendicularly to an opening/closing direction of the fixed contact and the moving contact. A stretch space in which an arc generated between the fixed contact and the moving contact is stretched is provided, in the predetermined direction, beyond respective tips of the fixed contact holder and the moving contact holder. The stretch space also faces a surface of the fixed contact holder and a surface of the moving contact holder.

Electromagnetic relay

A light detection device includes a photo detector and a circuit board connected to the photo detector by conductive connection parts. In this light detection device, the photo detector includes a substrate, a semiconductor layer provided on one surface of the substrate, a first groove dividing the semiconductor layer into sections for respective pixels, and first electrodes provided on the semiconductor layer and serving as the pixels. Each of the conductive connection part contains indium. Each of the first electrode includes a Ti layer and a Pt layer stacked in this order on the semiconductor layer, and the conductive connection parts are provided on the Pt layers of the first electrodes.

Light detection device

A first end portion includes a first contact. A second end portion includes a second contact. At least a first end portion, out of the first end portion and a second end portion, is curved to be folded back from a tip in one direction of the first end portion. The first contact is located in a folded-back part of the first end portion and faces the second contact.

Contact device and electromagnetic relay

This combined dehydration device continuously supplies primarily dehydrated sludge to a sludge supply part, the combined dehydration device including: a multiple rotary disk-type solid-liquid separation device and an electroosmosis dehydration device. In the multiple rotary disk-type solid-liquid separation device, a plurality of rotary shafts in which a plurality of rotary disks are fitted and mounted are arranged from the upstream side toward the downstream side and pivotally supported; while the rotary disks are rotated, water to be treated including sludge is supplied from over the rotary disks at the upstream side and is subjected to a primary dehydration treatment; and first dehydrated sludge on the rotary disks is fed and discharged from a sludge discharge part located at the most downstream portion of the rotary disks. In the electroosmosis dehydration device, a sludge supply part is provided at the upstream side of an endless filtration fabric spread between rollers.

Combined dehydration device

Provided are a decompression shut-off valve device having high responsiveness and a method for controlling the same. The decompression shut-off valve deviceincludes an on-off valve, a detection pin, and an interlocking memberwhich operates the on-off valveby displacement of the pressure-receiving section, a valve chamber, an accommodating chamber, and a cylinderwhich accommodates an enlarged diameter sectionprovided in a rod sectionof the on-off valve. The rod sectionis slidably held through a second partition wall, and a rod end portionof the rod sectionis connected to the detection pinvia the interlocking member. The cylinderis partitioned into a small diameter low-pressure chamber, and a large diameter high-pressure chamberin which the working fluid having a higher pressure than the low-pressure chamberis accommodated.

Decompression shut-off valve device and method for controlling same

An acceleration sensor includes a weight portion having a recess section and a solid section, beam portions, a movable electrode provided on the opposite surface of the weight portion from an open surface of the recess section to extend over the recess section and the solid section, a first fixed electrode arranged at the opposite side of the movable electrode from the recess section, and a second fixed electrode arranged at the opposite side of the movable electrode from the solid section. The acceleration sensor detects acceleration using a change in capacitance between the movable electrode and the fixed electrodes caused by rotation of the weight portion. The beam portions are shifted toward the recess section such that an angle between a perpendicular line extending from a gravity center position of the weight portion to the rotation axis and a surface of the movable electrode becomes equal to 45 degrees.

Acceleration sensor

An optical module that communicates with a single optical fiber is disclosed. The optical module includes an optical transmitting unit (Tx unit), an optical receiving unit (Rx unit), a filter holder that mounts a wavelength splitting filter, and a housing that installs the Tx unit, the Rx unit and the filter holder. The housing and the filter holder each provide slopes rubbing to each other that automatically determine the angle of the wavelength splitting filter.

An optical module with an improved coupling portion to couple an optical device with an external fiber is disclosed. The coupling portion includes a stub to secure a coupling fiber in a center thereof, a bush to support the stub, a sleeve to receive the stub in a portion thereof and an external ferrule in another portion, and a sleeve cover to cover the sleeve. The coupling portion further includes a latch put between the bush and the cover by being hooked with both the bush and the cover. The latch electrically isolates the bush from the cover even when the bush and the sleeve cover are made of metal.

A bi-directional optical module that provides an Rx unit and a Tx unit, where optical axes are perpendicular to each other, is disclosed. The optical module provides a housing that installs a WDM filter therein and assembles the coupling unit in a surface through the front alignment unit, the Tx unit in another surface opposite to the former surface, and the Rx unit in still another surface connecting the former two surfaces through the rear alignment unit. The axes of the Tx unit and the coupling unit are in parallel to each other, but the axis of the Rx unit is in perpendicular to the former two axes. The Rx unit installs a photodiode (PD) with an optically sensitive surface leveled with the surface of the rear alignment unit to which the Rx unit is attached.

An optical assembly that installs red, green, blue laser diodes (LDs) within a single package is disclosed. The LDs are mounted on a base via respective sub-mounts. Light emitted from the LDs is collimated by collimating lenses and multiplexed by two wavelength filters so as to align optical axes of the light. The multiplexed light has an axis substantially leveled with the axes of the red, green, and blue light measured from the top of the base.

Optical assembly and method for assembling the same, and optical module implemented with optical assembly

A method to determine a position of a lens that concentrates an optical beam on an inclined end surface of an optical fiber is disclosed. The method first determines two positions at which optical power output from the lens and measured through a multi-mode fiber becomes a maximum on respective virtual plane apart from the lens; then, calculates the direction or the angle of the optical beam output from the lens, and moves the lens so as to compensate a deviation of the calculated direction from the designed direction.
