A method, apparatus, and program for estimating noise generation for a synchronous belt having a length and teeth spaced along the belt length. The method includes the steps of: calculating belt displacement transversely to the belt length at or near a first location at which teeth on the belt mesh with teeth on a first cooperating toothed pulley; calculating a belt fluctuation velocity by correlating the belt displacement to a time frame; and calculating a radiated sound pressure level using the belt fluctuation velocity.

Method, apparatus, and program for estimating noise generation for a synchronous belt

A power transmission belt having a belt body with a length, an inside, an outside, a backing layer, a plurality of longitudinally extending teeth, and a land surface between adjacent teeth facing in one of an inside and outside direction. At least one longitudinally extending cord is provided on the belt body. The distance between the land surface and the load carrying cord between the inside and outside of the belt is between 0.30 and 0.50 mm. The distance between the land surface and the center of the load carrying cord between the inside and outside of the belt is between 0.73 and 0.85 mm.

Toothed power transmission belt

A power transmission belt having a body with a length and inside and outside surfaces. A plurality of teeth are spaced lengthwise along the belt body and define at least a portion of one of the inside and outside surfaces of the belt body. A fabric layer with weft yarns is provided on the one of the inside and outside surfaces of the belt body. At least a portion of the weft yarns include a plurality of filaments of para-aramid fiber having a thickness of 0.3 to 1.2 denier.

Toothed belt

A toothed rubber belt has teeth, a rubber back and a core wire imbedded in the rubber back. The core wire has lower twists of about 10.5 to about 13.5 times/10 cm and an upper twist of about 6.5 to about 9.5 times/10 cm. Preferably, the wire core is made of glass having a construction of ECG 150 3/6 to 3/13. The core wire having the specified number of twists improves the physical properties of the belt.

Toothed belt having twisted core wire

A toothed belt has cores coated with a resorcin-formalin-latex liquid that includes as the latex component at least about 60 wt % of a hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber or a chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber. The teeth can be covered with a tooth covering fabric that is made from yarns containing at least 50 volume percent of aramid fibers.

Toothed belt having coated cores exhibiting improved resistance

A canvas cover for placement over an exposed surface of a power transmission belt having a length and width, which canvas cover consists of a yarn defining a weft for extension in the longitudinal direction with respect to a belt on which the canvas cover is to be placed, and a twisted yarn defining a warp for extension in the widthwise direction with respect to a belt on which the canvas cover is to be placed. The warp yarn is preferably made up of from 3-15 twisted mono-filaments each of 10-50 denier with a total denier of 210d.

A transmission belt having a base section with a plurality of teeth spaced lengthwise of the belt and a canvas layer covering the teeth. The canvas layer has weft yarns extending in a lengthwise direction defined by aromatic polyamide fiber spun yarn twisted with a urethane elastic yarn. The canvas layer further includes warp yarns made by twisting a plurality of filaments, at least one of which is aliphatic mono-filament of 10 to 50 denier, or a plurality of aromatic polyamide multi-filament of 1 to 6 denier.

A power transmission ribbed V-belt having a plurality of outer ribs and a plurality of inner ribs. The number of outer ribs and height of the outer ribs differs from the number and height of the inner ribs. In the preferred embodiment, the ribs define trapezoidal distal portions having cylindrically rounded corners and planar end faces. Other rib configurations are disclosed. In the illustrated embodiment, the ribs are spaced from the midportion of the belt carrying the tensile cords by base sections, and transversely extending short reinforcing fibers are provided for improved lateral stability of the belt.
