When, while a resin-made clamping block molded to cover a part of a turbine blade is placed on a seat part, paired sliders disposed on opposite sides of the seat part are made to move closer to the resin-made clamping block, paired wedge members provided respectively on the paired sliders engage with notches formed respectively in paired side surfaces, opposed to each other, of the resin-made clamping block to generate cracks. Accordingly, it is possible to divide the resin-made clamping block into at least two pieces and to reliably remove the resin-made clamping block from the turbine blade. Furthermore, since the resin-made clamping block is not broken by a mechanical strike, there is no fear that the turbine blade might be damaged due to an erroneous setting of the strike force.

A processing apparatus capable of grinding an arcuate groove (a groove having an arcuate shape in section) of various shapes defined in a work with a good accuracy. A pseudo-elliptic arcuate groove defined in a work is ground by a forming grindstone. The work is moved in a Y-axis direction (vertically on a paper sheet) in a state in which the forming grindstone is supported on a tool table for rotation and is moved in a X-axis direction (a direction perpendicular to the paper sheet) to abut against the arcuate groove, while rotating the work in a direction of an arrow with its axis L matched with an axis C of an indexer. Thus, it is possible to relatively move the forming grindstone to trace the arcuate groove, thereby accurately grinding the arcuate groove.

Work processing method

A cup-shaped grindstone for grinding an end face of an annular portion of a work to form tooth grooves in the end face includes a grinding portion provided around an outer periphery of a disk portion. Abrasive grains of CBN are electrodeposited on each of first, second and third grinding faces of the grinding portion. Cooling-liquid ejecting bores are provided in a lower end of the first grinding face. To form the tooth grooves, the following steps are carried out: a rough-finish processing step cuts the tooth grooves by intermittently feeding the cup-shaped grindstone in a predetermined amount at a time, and a finish processing step of finishing the tooth grooves by retaining the cup-shaped grindstone at a predetermined position after the rough-finish processing step. During both steps, a cooling liquid is supplied from cooling-liquid ejecting bores defined in the first grinding faces of the cup-shaped grindstone.

Method of forming tooth grooves

A hollow shaft is manufactured by defining a through hole axially in a shaft blank to produce a cylindrical hollow shaft blank, inserting a mandrel in the through hole of the hollow shaft blank, holding opposite ends of the mandrel concentrically with the through hole, and rotating the hollow shaft blank about its own axis while cutting an outer circumferential surface of at least one end of the hollow shaft blank concentrically with the through hole to form a reference outer circumferential surface on the at least one end of the hollow shaft blank. After the reference outer circumferential surface is formed, it is held in position, and the hollow shaft blank is rotated about its own axis while cutting a predetermined thickness of an outer circumferential surface of the hollow shaft blank over a substantially entire length thereof for thereby finishing the hollow shaft blank into a hollow shaft.
