A liquid crystal display device with improved thermal exhaustion property, enabling a thickness reduction, includes a backlight including light sources illuminating a liquid crystal panel from a back face, and a chassis holding the backlight. The backlight includes: plural light-source units each including a combination of a LED emitting light in a direction parallel to a display surface of the panel, a wiring board mounted with the LED, and a light-guide plate having translucency for guiding the LED light toward the panel; a metal chassis supporting the light-source units; and a thermally conductive sheet tightly inserted between the metal chassis and a reverse side of the wiring board opposite to the LED-mounted face. A wiring pattern is formed on the reverse side. The metal chassis and the wiring pattern located within a predetermined distance of the LED outer periphery are connected through the thermally conductive sheet.

According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an optical scanning apparatus including a light source, an optical unit, a first controller and a second controller. The light source emits a predetermined number of laser beams, the laser beams to be arranged in a sub-scanning direction on a recording medium. The optical unit simultaneously scans the laser beams in parallel on the recording medium. The first controller changes a dot size of the laser beams in a main scanning direction. The second controller changes the predetermined number.

Optical scanning apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes an optical scanning system that simultaneously forms a group of two scanning lines extending in a main scanning direction on a surface of a photoconductive member at a prescribed scan line interval in a sub scanning direction. An exposure intensity distribution changing device is provided to symmetrically change exposure intensity distribution of two scanning lines in the main scan direction. A group of two scanning lines formed next on the photoconductive member partially overlaps with the group previously formed with displacement of a prescribed feed pitch in the sub scanning direction so that a prescribed numbers of the two scanning lines neighboring to each other of the different groups are paired to form a prescribed number of combination scan lines. In a circuit board disposed in parallel to a fixing plane, a guard spacer (abutting member) is disposed on a multi-layer printed circuit board on the side of the fixing plane to suppress deformation of the multi-layer printed circuit board to prevent short circuit if an impact is applied to the circuit board. A multi-beam image forming apparatus includes: first and second semiconductor laser arrays each having n laser elements; a multi-beam generation unit that generates 2n laser beams by synthesizing laser beams generated by the first and second semiconductor laser arrays; a beam detection unit that generates synchronous detection signals to obtain synchronous scanning of the respective laser beams; and a control unit.
