A light source device includes a laser diode, a focusing mirror, a focusing lens, and an optical fiber. The laser diode emits a laser beam having a divergence angle in a first axial direction of a first axis perpendicular to an optical axis larger than a divergence angle in a second axial direction of a second axis perpendicular to the optical axis and the first axis. The focusing mirror reflects the laser beam emitted from the laser diode and focuses the laser beam in the first axial direction. The focusing lens focuses the laser beam reflected by the focusing mirror in the second axial direction. The optical fiber has a core that the laser beam focused by the focusing mirror and the focusing lens enters.

A light source according to the present invention includes an excitation light source configured to emit excitation light, and a luminescent wheel including a base material, a fluorescent light emitting zone formed on one surface of the base material and configured to emit fluorescent light having a wavelength in a wavelength range which differs from that of the excitation light and a reflection zone disposed so as to be aligned with the fluorescent light emitting zone on the one side surface of the base material and configured to reflect the excitation light, and a shining position of the excitation light on the fluorescent light emitting zone and a shining position of the excitation light on the reflection zone differ from each other in relation to a radial direction of the luminescent wheel.

A light source unit of the present invention includes a light emitting device emitting light having a characteristic in which emitted light travels in a predetermined direction in which a uniformity in intensity distribution relative to an axis of the emitted light is high and an unstable direction in which a uniformity in intensity distribution relative to the axis of the emitted light is lower than that in the predetermined direction, the unstable direction being at right angles to the predetermined direction, an intensity transforming lens formed to control the intensity distribution in the predetermined direction and on which the light emitted from the light emitting device is incident, and a superposition transforming optical device formed to control the intensity distribution in the unstable direction by dividing the intensity distribution into a plurality of directions and superposing divided intensity distributions one on the other.

A light source device includes a first light source, a second light source and a composite dichroic mirror. The first light source is configured to emit light of a first wavelength band. The second light source is configured to emit light of a second wavelength band which is different from the first wavelength band. The composite dichroic mirror has a first area and a second area which characteristics is different from characteristics of the first area. The composite dichroic mirror reflects the light of the first wavelength band while transmitting the light of the second wavelength band. The light of the first wavelength band is radiated corresponding to the first area and the second area of the composite dichroic mirror, and the light of the second wavelength band is radiated corresponding to the first area of the composite dichroic mirror.
