A resin composition includes: (a) a supported platinum catalyst having a structure shown by the following general formula (1) in which a platinum complex is supported on a surface of an inorganic oxide; and (b) a thermoplastic matrix resin. The resin composition is usable as an addition-reaction catalyst capable of imparting sufficient storability and quick curability to an addition-reaction curable composition. In the formula, L represents a ligand selected from carbon monoxide, an olefin compound, an amine compound, a phosphine compound, an N-heterocyclic carbene compound, a nitrile compound, and an isocyanide compound; and n represents the number of Ls and an integer from 0 to 2.

Resin composition containing supported platinum catalyst, thermosetting organopolysiloxane composition using the resin composition, and method for curing the thermosetting organopolysiloxane composition

A resin composition suited for rapid prototyping is provided comprising (I) an actinic energy radiation-curable silicone composition, (II) an actinic energy radiation-sensitive polymerization initiator, and (III) an actinic energy radiation absorber. The resin composition experiences little viscosity buildup and maintains fluidity during long-term storage at elevated temperature, and is effective in rapid prototyping or shaping by stereolithography using any actinic energy radiation.

Rapid prototyping resin compositions

A self-adhesive organopolysiloxane composition is provided comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane containing at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups, (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing at least two SiH groups, (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst, and (D) an adhesive component obtained by previously mixing (i) a titanium chelate catalyst and/or a tetraorganoxytitanium and (ii) a silane coupling agent and aging the mixture. The composition cures at room temperature or lower temperature while it is fully adhesive to metal and plastic substrates.

Self-adhesive organopolysiloxane composition

A silicone rubber coating composition which cures into a silicone rubber having a tear strength of 25-50 kN/m and a peeling bond strength of 30-60 N/cm is suited for coating of hollow weave type air bags. A hollow weave type air bag coated with the coating composition can be instantaneously inflated while the bag prevents the silicone rubber film from being peeled from the base fabric, eliminates inflating gas leakage, and retains an acceptable inflation time.

Air bag coating composition

A silicone rubber coating composition which cures into a silicone rubber having a tear strength of 25&#x2013;50 kN/m and a peeling bond strength of 30&#x2013;60 N/cm is suited for coating of hollow weave type air bags. A hollow weave type air bag coated with the coating composition can be instantaneously inflated while the bag prevents the silicone rubber film from being peeled from the base fabric, eliminates inflating gas leakage, and retains an acceptable inflation time.

Silicone rubber compositions comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups, (B) finely divided silica, (C) an adhesive component, (D) a silicone-soluble organopolysiloxane resin component bearing at least one alkenyl group, (E) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing SiH groups in a specific mole ratio to the alkenyl groups in components (A) and (D) combined, and (F) a platinum group catalyst, exhibit excellent adhesion to synthetic woven fabrics for air bags. When coated onto woven fabrics and cured, the compositions provide air bag base fabrics of outstanding flexibility, sealability and deployability which remain stable over time.

Silicone rubber composition for coating air bags

A solvent-free liquid silicone rubber composition comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane containing at least two alkenyl groups, (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two hydrogen atoms each attached to a silicon atom, (C) wet silica having a BET specific surface area of 150-250 m /g, a mean particle size of 0.01-20 &mgr;m, and a sodium ion content of up to 0.35 wt % Na O, (D) an adhesive agent, and (E) a platinum group catalyst is useful for coating onto air bag base fabric to form a thin film having good infiltration, strong adhesion and minimized surface tack.

Liquid silicone rubber coating composition and air bag fabric

A silicone sponge rubber having a great tensile strength even when it has a low foam density can be obtained from a foamable silicone rubber composition including: (A) a polyolefin dispersion obtained by polymerizing monomers having polymerizable aliphatic unsaturated double bonds, dispersed in a dispersion medium of an organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of from 50 cSt to 1,000,000 cSt at 25.degree. C. whose molecular chain both terminals are terminated with silanol groups, to form a polyolefin in the silanol group-containing organopolysiloxane; (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two hydrogen atoms in one molecule; (C) at least one selected from the group consisting of water, an alcohol, a silanol group-containing organosilane, and a silanol group-containing siloxane having a viscosity of less than 50 cSt at 25.degree. C.; and (D) a platinum family metal catalyst.

Foamable silicone rubber composition

An adhesive silicone composition comprising a diorganopolysiloxane, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and a platinum catalyst is blended with an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two hydrogen atoms each bonded to a silicon atom in a molecule and containing an aromatic ring-bearing hydrocarbon radical in an amount of at least 12 mol % of the entire monovalent organic radicals bonded to silicon atoms, or a compound containing at least one hydrogen atom bonded to a silicon atom in a molecule and having a radical of two benzene rings separated by --R.sup.13 R.sup.14 Si--, --R.sup.13 R.sup.14 SiO--, --OR.sup.13 R.sup.14 SiO-- or --R.sup.13 R.sup.14 SiOR.sup.13 R.sup.14 Si-- wherein R.sup.13 and R.sup.14 are a monovalent hydrocarbon radical. The composition firmly adheres to organic resins, but is readily releasable from metal molds.
